What are we looking for? (Job Overview)
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented GA Manager/ Sr Manager to lead plant-level financial accounting, reporting, controls, and compliance activities. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing financial closings, ensuring accuracy of accounting records, maintaining strong internal controls, managing audits, and providing actionable financial insights to support business decision-making. This role requires strong expertise in general accounting, financial reporting, plant finance, and audit management within a manufacturing environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly plant financial closing activities and ensure timely and accurate book closure.
- Review ledger scrutinizes, journal entries, and accounting transactions to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Prepare, review, and validate Balance Sheet schedules and supporting reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of inventory, production, consumption, and other plant-related transactions.
- Monitor provisions, accruals, prepaid expenses, and expense bookings to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Review general ledger balances and perform periodic account reconciliations.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely recording of financial transactions and proper accounting treatment.
- Lead and coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, financial reviews, and audit closure activities.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures at the plant level.
- Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen governance and compliance frameworks.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure availability of supporting records for audits, assessments, and inspections.
- Prepare and monitor plant-level financial MIS, management reports, and key accounting metrics.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate reporting requirements.
- Assist management with financial analysis, balance sheet reviews, and performance monitoring.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance accounting accuracy and reporting efficiency.
Qualification / Work Experience
- CA Inter / M.Com.
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Audit Coordination, or Plant Finance.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, metals, chemicals, process industries, or industrial organizations preferred.
Knowledge / Skill / Abilities
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and reporting requirements.
- Experience in month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting, plant accounting, and manufacturing finance.
- Robust expertise in balance sheet reconciliations, ledger scrutiny, provisions, and accrual accounting.
- Familiarity with internal controls, audit processes, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.
