Purpose/Objective
Shift incharge - Operations (Solar) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of solar energy systems, ensuring optimal performance and maximum energy output.
This role involves directly managing operational tasks, monitoring system performance, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
The Associate will take proactive steps to identify and resolve issues, optimize system performance, and contribute to the overall success of solar energy operations.
Key Responsibilities of Role
Operational Management and Performance Monitoring: Oversee the daily operations of solar energy systems, ensuring that energy production targets are met and all equipment functions at peak efficiency.
Monitor key performance indicators such as Performance Ratio (PR), Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF), Plant Availability (PA), and Grid Availability (GA), taking corrective actions as necessary to optimize performance.
Analyze performance data to identify operational trends and areas for improvement, adjusting strategies to enhance overall system efficiency.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operational activities comply with safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards, maintaining a zero-accident work setting.
Lead safety training sessions, toolbox talk and safety audits to ensure adherence to safety guidelines and regulatory compliance.
Ensure timely submission of required documentation, including Joint Meter Readings (JMR) and compliance reports, and ensure all operational activities meet regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement and Efficiency Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in operational processes and develop strategies to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance energy output.
Implement improvements in operational procedures based on performance analysis and industry best practices.
Manage the execution of process optimization initiatives, ensuring that changes are effectively integrated and sustained within the operations.
Resource and Workforce Management: Oversee the allocation of resources for operational tasks, ensuring that both human and material resources are used efficiently to meet operational goals.
Coordinate and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and other operational staff, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and to the required standards.
Conduct regular performance reviews for the team and provide training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on system performance and any operational issues, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of operational activities, including performance metrics, downtime incidents, and completed maintenance tasks.
Ensure all regulatory compliance documentation and reports are submitted accurately and on time, contributing to the overall compliance framework.
Technology Integration and Innovation: Monitor the implementation of new technologies and tools aimed at improving operational efficiency and performance.
Ensure the effective use of technology, such as SCADA systems and other monitoring tools, to track system performance and resolve issues proactively.
Recommend and lead the adoption of new technologies and best practices that enhance operational capabilities and performance.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, including maintenance, engineering, and safety, to ensure that operational objectives are met and challenges are addressed promptly.
Engage with external stakeholders such as vendors, service contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth operations and compliance with industry standards.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to align operational activities with broader organizational goals.

Tech/Diploma - Electrical or Electronics or relevant to Energy Sector Work Experience: 6-8 years of experience in Energy Sector is must.
