Job Summary The Manager on Duty is responsible for overseeing the smooth and productive functioning of the hospital during the assigned shift. The role involves coordinating with clinical and non-clinical departments, addressing patient and attendant concerns, managing operational issues, ensuring patient safety, and acting as the key administrative point of contact during the shift.

Key Responsibilities

- Take overall responsibility for hospital operations during the assigned shift.

- Coordinate with emergency, nursing, medical, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, housekeeping, security, billing, and other departments.

- Ensure smooth patient flow from registration and consultation through admission, treatment, transfer, and discharge.

- Monitor the functioning of critical hospital areas, including Emergency, ICU, wards, OPD, diagnostics, and support services.

- Address patient and attendant complaints and coordinate timely resolution of operational concerns.

- Escalate clinical, administrative, security, or safety-related issues to the appropriate authority.

- Ensure adequate staffing and operational readiness across departments during the shift.

- Monitor adherence to hospital policies, SOPs, safety standards, infection-control practices, and service-quality standards.

- Coordinate during medical emergencies, fire incidents, security issues, mass-casualty situations, and other critical events.

- Ensure availability and functioning of essential equipment,



utilities, housekeeping, security, and other support services.

- Coordinate with doctors and clinical teams regarding operational requirements without interfering with clinical decision-making.

- Monitor waiting times, patient complaints, delays, and service gaps and take appropriate corrective action.

- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of incidents, complaints, emergencies, and significant events during the shift.

- Conduct regular rounds of hospital departments to identify and resolve operational issues.

- Coordinate with biomedical engineering, IT, maintenance, housekeeping, security, and other support teams when required.

- Ensure compliance with hospital safety, quality, infection-control, and accreditation requirements.

- Monitor visitor and attendant management and coordinate with security when necessary.

- Ensure effective shift handover to the incoming Manager on Duty or concerned department head.

- Prepare daily/shift reports and communicate important issues to hospital management.

- Maintain confidentiality of patient, staff, and hospital information.

- Support continuous improvement of patient experience and hospital operations.

- Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Hospital Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
