About the Role

We're looking for an HR Manager who can own the people function end-to-end in a high-velocity startup - from hiring across IT and non-IT roles to building the culture, systems, and compliance backbone that let a small team scale without breaking. You'll operate hands-on: close hires yourself, run the day-to-day, and set up HR to run cleanly whether you're in the room. If you like ambiguity, own outcomes, and want direct influence on how the company is built, this is that seat.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition (core of the role)

- Own end-to-end hiring across IT and non-IT roles - sourcing, screening, structured interviews, negotiation, offer, and onboarding.
- Run fast, high-pressure hiring cycles; build and maintain a live pipeline against anticipated needs.
- Use AI-enabled sourcing, resume-screening, and candidate-matching tools to improve speed and quality of hire.

People Operations & Compliance

- Administer the employee lifecycle in greytHR — onboarding, attendance, payroll inputs, exits.
- Ensure statutory compliance (in coordination with payroll/CA); keep policies current and documented.

Employee Relations & Performance

- Handle grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters with a firm-but-empathetic hand.




- Run performance cycles and translate feedback into development and retention actions.

Culture, Retention & Workforce Planning

- Build a culture of ownership, high performance, and accountability sized for a lean team.
- Drive engagement and retention; use HR metrics and attrition insights to inform decisions.
- Manage joiners, movers, and exits so transitions stay smooth and non-disruptive.

Team & Systems

- Guide and develop the junior HR layer (Associates / Interns), whenever we hire in future.
- Own and improve the HR tech stack (greytHR, Zoho Recruit); suggest and adopt no-code tools that make HR smoother and smarter.

Requirements

- 3+ years across HR, with real recruitment ownership; startup experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of core HR functions - TA (technical & operations), HR operations, performance, employee engagement, and Indian labour compliance.
- Strong negotiator who can convince, close, and onboard; sharp, logical, street-smart.
- Comfortable being non-rigid about scope — willing to step beyond a narrow HR brief.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management.
- Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace; hands-on with HRMS and ATS.
