The Manager, Finance is a core finance role responsible for strengthening financial analysis, grant finance oversight, and compliance management across ChildFund Indias operations. The role goes beyond transaction processing and focuses on financial intelligence, risk management, donor compliance, and decision-support for leadership.
Working closely with the Director, Finance & Accounting, this role provides structured financial insights to support program delivery, donor accountability, and organizational sustainability. The incumbent will act as a key interface between finance, programs, fundraising, HR, and external stakeholders, ensuring financial discipline, transparency, and timely reporting.
Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks; acquire and maintain the relevant knowledge and skills necessary to promote solid safeguarding practices; understand and adhere to ChildFund Indias Safeguarding Policy and Procedures; and conduct yourself at all times in a manner consistent with ChildFund India’s safeguarding principles and standards.
The Manager, Finance will lead analytical finance functions, including preparation of Budget vs. Actual (BvA) dashboards, burn-rate analysis, forecasting, and scenario modelling to support cross functional teams and leadership in timely decision-making. The role will support annual budgeting, proposal costing, mid-year revisions, unit costing, shared cost allocation models, and financial planning aligned with organizational strategy.
The role will be responsible for strengthening donor and statutory compliance. This includes maintaining compliance trackers, coordinating with auditors and consultants, monitoring FCRA and statutory filings, managing forex exposure, and proactively flagging financial risks and variances.
The Manager, Finance will also contribute to systems strengthening and capacity building by supporting automation initiatives, BI dashboards, SOP development, and finance training for finance and non-finance teams. The role will work cross-functionally with Programs, HR, Fundraising, and Admin teams to ensure LOE budgeting, procurement compliance, and ethical financial practices in line with ChildFund’s safeguarding standards.
Any other tasks may be assigned by the Reporting Manager.
Required Experience and Education
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field (CA Inter/CMA Inter preferred). A master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in finance, data analysis, audit, preferably within NGOs or international development organizations. Prior experience with BI tools, automation, Macros, forecasting, and financial modelling.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of Indian GAAP, internal controls, auditing, FCRA regulations, statutory compliances, and donor reporting requirements.
- Knowledge: Advanced MS Excel skills and working knowledge of accounting/ERP systems.
