We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Technical Lead with 10+ years of experience in Mainframe application development, with strong expertise in COBOL and Mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading technical teams, providing technical guidance, and supporting mainframe application modernization initiatives.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, IMS, CICS, and DB2, along with a strong understanding of modernization approaches such as re-hosting, re-platforming, re-factoring, and re-writing.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor Mainframe development teams and provide technical guidance.
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Mainframe applications using COBOL.
- Analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Work on Mainframe application modernization and transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement modernization approaches such as:
- Re-hosting
- Re-platforming
- Re-factoring
- Re-writing
- Review existing Mainframe applications and identify opportunities for modernization and optimization.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex application and production issues.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and quality processes.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
- Support application migration and integration with Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Manage multiple technical tasks and priorities while ensuring timely delivery.




- Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to team members.
- Collaborate with offshore/onshore teams and other technology stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Mainframe application development
- Strong hands-on experience in Mainframe COBOL
- In-depth knowledge of:
- JCL
- VSAM
- IMS
- CICS
- DB2
- Proven experience in Technical Lead / Team Lead roles.
- Experience in leading, mentoring, and guiding technical teams.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in Mainframe modernization is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of modernization approaches:
- Re-hosting
- Re-platforming
- Re-factoring
- Re-writing
- Valuable understanding of SDLC methodologies and software development best practices.
- Working knowledge of Cloud environments – AWS / Azure / Google Cloud.
- Experience with version control and software configuration management tools.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools for Mainframe applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Mainframe-to-Cloud modernization projects.
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise Mainframe applications.
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to modernization assessment and migration planning.

Pay: ₹915,236.25 - ₹2,447,913.94 per year
