Kensho, S&P; Global’s hub for AI innovation and transformation, is hiring a Senior ML Engineer to help build production-grade GenAI and machine learning systems. The role focuses on scalable, reliable, and transparent ML solutions for S&P; data and AI products.

Experience

- 3+ years of hands-on industry experience in machine learning, NLP, and information retrieval systems
- Experience designing, shipping, and maintaining production systems
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience reading and understanding SQL databases and writing queries for specific access patterns
- Experience building ML pipelines for data processing, training, inference, maintenance, evaluation, versioning, and experimentation
- Demonstrated coding, documentation, collaboration, and communication habits
- Solid problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Experience with LLM orchestration libraries or frameworks such as LangChain

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

- Develop, refine, and deploy machine learning systems that solve complex business problems and power Kensho products
- Design retrieval-driven AI agents that fetch, validate, and structure data from S&P; datasets
- Ground LLM outputs in trusted S&P; data
- Identify and resolve performance gaps in online and offline settings
- Work with proprietary structured and unstructured datasets
- Develop domain understanding and work with Subject Matter Experts




- Optimize and scale ML systems for high demand, efficient resource utilization, and reliable production behavior
- Proactively reduce technical debt by improving reliability and maintainability
- Scope, plan, and execute ML initiatives that develop core capabilities across Kensho products
- Collaborate with Data, Product, Design, and Engineering teams
- Partner with Product and Design to improve user workflows with ML-driven functionality
- Drive the ML lifecycle from problem framing and data exploration through deployment and production monitoring

Additional Responsibilities

- Address issues such as performance, latency, memory usage, compute efficiency, and feature consistency in LLM-based agents
- Influence key architectural decisions
- Experiment with new approaches
- Accelerate the pace of prototyping, development, and maintenance of high-impact ML solutions
- Elevate and streamline the ML development lifecycle
- Set a high bar for excellence in modeling, deployment, and production operations
