About the Role
MY-BEV is a product-based startup developing automated machines for real-world applications.
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Machine Lead with strong expertise in Embedded Systems, IoT, Machine Automation, Linux, C++, Python, and Hardware-Software Integration.
The Machine Lead will take ownership of the complete machine technology, including embedded controllers, Single-Board Computers (SBCs), sensors, actuators, motors, machine-control systems, software integration, and communication between the machine and connected platforms.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in machine development and be comfortable working across embedded hardware, software, electronics, and machine-level troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and integration of embedded systems for automated machines.
- Own the overall machine architecture and embedded system design.
- Develop and integrate software using C++, Python, and Embedded C/C++.
- Work with Single-Board Computers (SBCs) and microcontrollers.
- Work with Linux-based embedded systems and configure, develop, and troubleshoot applications running on Linux.
- Develop machine-control logic and automation sequences.
- Work with IoT-enabled devices and connected machine systems.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, motors, pumps, valves, heaters, controllers, and other electromechanical components.
- Develop communication between embedded systems, SBCs, machine controllers, and software platforms.
- Work with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485, Modbus, and Ethernet.
- Perform hardware-software integration, debugging, testing, and validation.
- Develop reliable machine monitoring, diagnostics, and fault-handling mechanisms.
- Implement machine safety, interlocks, error handling, and recovery mechanisms.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across hardware, firmware, Linux, software, electronics, sensors, actuators, and machine operation.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Take machine development from prototype/POC to production.
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and product teams for complete system integration.
- Support component selection, prototyping, testing, calibration, and production readiness.
- Define technical specifications, test plans,
validation procedures, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct technical and design reviews.
- Mentor embedded and machine engineering team members.
- Maintain system architecture, software/firmware documentation, technical specifications, and release processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Embedded Systems, Machine Development, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- B.Tech/B.E. or M.Tech/M.E. in a relevant technical discipline is mandatory.
- Strong hands-on experience with C++.
- Strong experience with Python for automation, machine control, testing, integration, or embedded applications.
- Strong experience with Embedded Systems and firmware development.
- Hands-on experience with Linux-based embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with Single-Board Computers (SBCs) such as Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, NVIDIA Jetson, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of IoT and connected devices.
- Hands-on experience in machine development and automation.
- Experience with microcontrollers and embedded controllers.
- Experience with hardware-software integration.
- Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, motors, pumps, valves, heaters, and controllers.
- Experience with communication protocols such as:
- UART
- SPI
- I2C
- CAN
- RS485
- Modbus
- Ethernet
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience taking machines/products from prototype to production.
- Strong understanding of real-time embedded systems and machine-control architecture.
- Ability to work across hardware, embedded software, Linux, and machine-level systems.
Embedded & Linux Skills
- Strong understanding of embedded system architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Linux OS in embedded/edge environments.
- Experience working with Linux command line, processes, networking, device interfaces, and system configuration.
- Experience developing or integrating applications on Linux-based SBCs.
- Understanding of hardware interfaces and peripheral communication.
- Experience debugging hardware and software issues at system level.
- Familiarity with Git and software/firmware version control.
IoT & Connected Machine Experience
- Experience developing or integrating IoT-enabled machines/devices.
- Understanding of device-to-device and device-to-cloud communication.
- Experience collecting and transmitting machine/device data.
- Understanding of remote monitoring and machine diagnostics.
- Experience with APIs, MQTT, or similar communication technologies will be an advantage.
- Experience integrating embedded devices with backend/cloud platforms is preferred.
Machine Development Experience Hands-on experience with physical machines is mandatory.
The candidate should have experience working directly with components such as:

- Own the complete machine and embedded technology stack from architecture to production.
- Lead technical decisions related to embedded systems, SBCs, Linux, C++, Python, sensors, actuators, controllers, and machine communication.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, software, and product engineering teams.
- Drive technical milestones from prototype validation production.
- Identify technical risks and provide practical engineering solutions.
- Establish standards for embedded development, machine testing, debugging, and validation.
- Lead technical reviews and root-cause analysis.
- Mentor engineers and technicians working on machine and embedded development.
- Ensure the machine is reliable, maintainable, scalable, and production-ready.
