Role & responsibilities

Job PurposeThe MIS Executive will be responsible for preparing and analyzing Logistics MIS, forecasting distribution costs, monitoring logistics expenses, and providing analytical support to the business. The role requires strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, SAP, accounting principles, and logistics cost analysis to support management in effective decision-making and cost optimization. The incumbent will also drive reporting automation and leverage AI tools to improve productivity and reporting efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesMIS & Reporting

- Prepare Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual MIS reports related to Logistics and Distribution Cost.
- Develop and maintain management dashboards and analytical reports.
- Prepare variance analysis comparing Actual vs Budget, Forecast, MBR, and Business Plan.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management.

Distribution Cost Analysis & Forecasting

- Forecast Distribution Cost based on Sales Plan, Plant Mix, State Mix, Dispatch Mix, Lead Distance, and Freight Rates.
- Analyze Primary Freight, Secondary Freight, Warehouse Cost, Handling Charges, and other logistics expenses.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support monthly budgeting and forecasting activities.

SAP & Data Analysis

- Extract, validate, and analyze data from SAP.
- Prepare SAP-based analytical reports and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with Logistics, Sales, Commercial, and Finance teams for data validation.
- Ensure data accuracy across all reporting systems.

Accounting & Financial Analysis

- Possess a sound understanding of accounting concepts and journal entries.
- Understand the financial impact of logistics transactions on Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
- Perform General Ledger (GL) reconciliation and investigate variances.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Ensure proper accounting of logistics-related expenses.





Presentation & Business Support

- Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations for Management Reviews, Business Reviews, and Leadership Meetings.
- Present business insights through charts, dashboards, and analytical summaries.
- Support senior management with data-driven decision-making.

Process Improvement & Automation

- Automate repetitive MIS reports using Advanced Excel and AI tools.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and reporting automation.
- Develop standardized templates and reporting formats.
- Support digital transformation initiatives within the Logistics Finance function.

Educational Qualification

- CA Inter / CMA Inter / MBA (Finance) / M.Com / with relevant experience.
- Advanced Excel, Power BI, or SAP Knowledge Required

Experience

- 1-2 years of experience in MIS, Logistics Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Finance, or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;).
- Experience in the Cement, Manufacturing, FMCG, or Logistics industry will be preferred.

Technical Skills

- Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Power Query, Power Pivot, Dashboards, Advanced Formulas, Data Validation, Conditional Formatting; VBA/Macros preferred).
- Microsoft PowerPoint Professional presentation preparation, management dashboards, and data visualization.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP (FI/CO, MM, SD modules preferred).
- Good understanding of Distribution Cost, Freight Cost, Warehouse Cost, and Supply Chain Operations.
- Knowledge of General Ledger (GL), Cost Centres, Accounting Entries,



and Financial Reporting.
- Budgeting, Forecasting, and Variance Analysis.
- AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms for reporting and productivity.
- Knowledge of Power BI will be an added advantage.

- Hands-on experience in Logistics Cost Analysis and Distribution Cost Forecasting.
- Good understanding of accounting entries, General Ledger, and financial impact analysis.
- Ability to convert data into meaningful business insights and executive presentations.
- Exposure to AI-enabled reporting tools and automation techniques.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working cross-functionally with Finance, Logistics, Sales, and Commercial teams
