Responsibilities

Database Development & Architecture

- Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for high-volume, distributed database environments
- Architect scalable, modular, and versatile database schemas and data models
- Work with PostgreSQL as a secondary database platform
- Performance & Optimization

Perform query tuning and execution plan analysis to ensure optimal performance

- Identify and resolve database bottlenecks, slow-running queries, and locking issues
- Establish indexing strategies, partitioning schemes, and caching approaches
- Monitor and maintain production database stability across distributed systems
- Technical Leadership & Team Management

Lead, mentor, and coach a team of 2-4 database developers

- Define and enforce coding standards, naming conventions, and procedures
- Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Drive technical excellence and ensure accountability for quality and on-time delivery
- Design & Analysis

Translate complex business requirements into technical designs, ERDs, and data flow diagrams

- Write detailed technical specifications and design documents
- Perform root cause analysis and debug complex production issues
- Evaluate trade-offs and make architecture decisions balancing performance, maintainability,



and scalability

Collaboration & Communication

- Work closely with architects, product owners, Node.js/Angular developers, and QA teams
- Present technical concepts and trade-offs to non-technical partners
- Align database solutions with broader application and system architecture
- Collaborate across geographically distributed teams and time zones
- Production Support & Delivery

Troubleshoot and resolve critical production incidents under tight deadlines

- Manage competing priorities for self and team in high-pressure environments
- Oversee end-to-end implementation from design through testing and deployment
- Support API layer integration and validate data flows using tools like Postman

Qualifications

Experience : 9-12 years

- Technical Expertise & Architecture: Expert-level proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL, complex/optimized SQL queries, and database architecture. Proven ability to design and build flexible, scalable, and modular database systems with a strong focus on performance tuning, query optimization, and production stability across distributed environments.
- Leadership & Team Development: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coach a team of 5-8 developers — setting coding standards, conducting code reviews, driving technical excellence, and ensuring accountability for quality and timely delivery of team outcomes.
- Business-to-Technical Translation: Strong experience in translating complex business requirements into technical designs, data models, and architecture decisions. Ability to write detailed technical specifications and oversee end-to-end implementation from design through testing.
- Full-Stack Awareness & Collaboration: Ability to function across application layers with working knowledge of Node.js, Angular, and API testing tools (Postman or similar). Skilled at collaborating with architects, product owners, and multi-functional teams to align database solutions with broader system goals.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions at a leadership level, present complex topics to non-technical audiences, and drive collaboration across geographically distributed teams and time zones.
- Execution Under Pressure:



Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with a track record of troubleshooting complex production issues, performing root cause analysis, and delivering results within tight deadlines in high-pressure environments while managing competing priorities for self and team.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent
