About the Chance

Orange Health Labs is inviting applications from final-year DMLT and B.Sc. MLT students for a 12-month Lab Internship in Gurugram.

This is a practical, on-the-job learning opportunity for students who want to build strong laboratory skills and understand the complete workflow of a modern diagnostic laboratory.

Over the 12-month internship, you will work alongside experienced laboratory professionals and gain exposure to sample processing, diagnostic testing, laboratory equipment, quality control, documentation, and laboratory operations.

What You Will Work On

As a Lab Intern, you will receive practical exposure to:

- Patient sample receiving, identification, labeling, sorting, and processing.
- Centrifugation, aliquoting, sample separation, and sample storage.
- Routine laboratory processes across Biochemistry, Hematology, and Clinical Pathology.
- Assisting with laboratory investigations under the guidance of trained technicians.
- Basic operation and handling of laboratory instruments and automated analyzers.
- Understanding pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical laboratory processes.
- Performing assigned activities as per laboratory SOPs and guidelines.
- Following Quality Control (QC) procedures and understanding their importance in diagnostic testing.
- Maintaining accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Correct handling and disposal of biological and biomedical waste.
- Following laboratory safety and infection-control practices.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the laboratory work area.
- Understanding laboratory TAT (Turnaround Time) and workflow management.
- Escalating sample-related or process-related issues to senior team members.
- Supporting the laboratory team during routine day-to-day operations.

Sample Processing

Understand how patient samples move through a diagnostic laboratory from receipt to testing.

Biochemistry

Learn the workflow involved in routine biochemical investigations and analyzer-based testing.

Hematology

Gain practical exposure to sample handling, routine hematology processes, and laboratory equipment.

Clinical Pathology

Understand routine specimen processing and clinical pathology workflows.

Laboratory Quality

Learn about QC, SOP adherence, documentation, error prevention, and quality standards.

Laboratory Operations

Understand how diagnostic laboratories manage sample volumes, TAT, workflow, equipment, and daily operations.

Eligibility

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

- Currently pursuing the final year of DMLT or B.Sc. MLT.
- Available to commit to a 12-month internship.
- Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and concepts.
- Genuine interest in building a career in diagnostic laboratory services.
- Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on laboratory environment.
- Ability to follow SOPs and instructions carefully.
- Good attention to detail while handling clinical samples.
- Responsible and professional approach to laboratory work.
- Comfortable working as part of a team.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and rotational weekly offs as required.
