Job Overview

We are looking for a Junior System Administrator who will be responsible for day-to-day IT support, desktop and system administration, hardware/software inventory, and basic Linux server administration.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, troubleshooting desktop and network-related issues, managing IT assets, and performing basic Linux server administration tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Desktop & End-User Support

- Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, and operating system issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows, macOS, and Linux workstations.
- Troubleshoot system performance, application, printer, Wi-Fi, LAN, and peripheral issues.
- Configure laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Manage user accounts, system access, and basic permissions.
- Assist employees with software installation, updates, and configuration.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support when required.
- Maintain proper documentation of recurring issues and solutions.

IT Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of laptops, desktops, monitors, networking equipment, peripherals, and other IT assets.
- Track asset allocation, employee assignment, serial numbers, warranties, and asset status.
- Maintain records for newly purchased, transferred, repaired, and retired equipment.
- Perform periodic physical verification of IT assets.
- Coordinate hardware procurement, replacement, repair, and disposal.
- Ensure proper documentation when equipment is issued to or returned by employees.

Linux Server Administration
- Perform basic administration of Ubuntu/Debian Linux servers.
- Monitor server health, CPU, RAM, disk space, and system availability.
- Manage users, groups, permissions, SSH access, and basic sudo configuration.




- Install and update packages using apt.
- Troubleshoot basic Linux services and application issues.
- Manage systemd services and review system/application logs.
- Perform basic server backup and restore operations.
- Monitor disk usage and perform basic server maintenance.
- Assist senior system administrators with server deployment, migration, and troubleshooting.
- Follow security best practices for SSH, user access, updates, and server configuration.

Networking & Security Support
- Troubleshoot basic LAN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and internet connectivity issues.
- Understand basic TCP/IP networking concepts.
- Assist with firewall and network troubleshooting.
- Support endpoint security, antivirus, system updates, and security policies.
- Escalate complex networking and security issues to senior team members.

Documentation & Operations
- Maintain IT documentation, system records, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Follow IT support and change-management procedures.
- Create and maintain internal knowledge-base documentation.
- Monitor open support requests and ensure timely resolution.
- Escalate critical or complex issues to the appropriate senior administrator.

Required Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or system administration.
- Good hands-on knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Basic Linux server administration experience.
- Good understanding of Linux command-line operations.
- Knowledge of users, groups, permissions, SSH, systemd, and package management.
- Basic networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/Wi-Fi, VPN.
- Hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with IT asset/inventory management.
- Positive troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document technical issues and solutions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: Up to ₹20,000.00 per month
