Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic entry-level Powertrain Assembly Process Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with 0-1 year of experience who is passionate about automotive engineering and manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will contribute to optimizing and improving powertrain assembly lines, ensuring high-quality production, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of powertrain assembly processes for various components (e.g., engines, transmissions, drivetrains).
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, minimize scrap, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for production issues, quality concerns, and warranty claims using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, quality, production, and maintenance, to resolve manufacturing challenges and support new product introductions.
- Help create, review,
and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans to ensure explicit guidelines for assembly operators.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, 5S initiatives, and other continuous improvement methodologies on the assembly line.
- Assist in data collection and analysis using tools like Excel, Minitab, or other statistical software to monitor process performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of assembly equipment, tooling, and fixtures, ensuring they meet production requirements and quality standards.
- Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) reviews, providing feedback to product design teams.
- Support testing and validation activities of assembled powertrain units, analyzing results, and documenting findings.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to process changes, improvements, and issues.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering Mechanical/Automobile/Production/Industrial/Instrumentation/Electrical or a closely related field.
- Minimum aggregate of 60% with no standing arrears/backlogs
- Readiness to work from office (Chennai)
- 0-1 year of professional experience (internships, co-op experiences, or significant academic projects in a relevant area will be highly valued).
- Should be a citizen of India
