Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated Junior Data Engineer with 1+ years of skilled experience, including internship experience, to support the development, maintenance, and operation of enterprise data solutions. This role operates in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment with guidance and mentorship from senior team members. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL and Python fundamentals, a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, and a desire to learn modern cloud-based data technologies while contributing to production support and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines to support business reporting, analytics, and operational needs.

- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects.

- Assist with developing and supporting data pipelines using Python, Snowflake, AWS, Informatica or Apache Airflow/Astronomer, and dbt

- Support data ingestion, transformation, validation, and loading processes across multiple data sources.

- Assist with data warehouse development, including dimensional modeling, fact tables, and dimension tables.

- Monitor production data pipelines and investigate data quality, performance, and reliability issues.

- Participate in on-call support rotations, incident triage, root cause analysis (RCA), and issue resolution activities.

- Provide Level 1 production support for data pipelines, ETL processes, data warehouse objects, and reporting solutions.

- Perform routine maintenance activities, including job validation, configuration updates,



data reconciliations, deployment validation, and system health checks.

- Analyze alerts, logs, and monitoring dashboards to identify and resolve operational issues proactively.

- Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, support procedures, and knowledge base articles.

- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers while providing detailed troubleshooting findings.

- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions.

- Contribute to documentation, code reviews, testing activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Follow engineering best practices for development, deployment, monitoring, support, and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.

- 1+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience, including internship experience.

- Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries, CTEs, window functions, joins, aggregations, and stored procedures.

- Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, fact and dimension tables, and ETL/ELT processes.





- Experience with Python for data processing, automation, and scripting.

- Experience building, maintaining, or supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.

- Experience with one or more of the following technologies: dbt Core, Informatica or Apache Airflow / Astronomer

- Understanding version control systems such as Git and GitLab.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and provide Level 1 production support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, incident triage, and escalation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Exposure to Snowflake, including SQL development, stored procedures, and cloud data warehousing concepts.

- Exposure to AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, IAM, CloudWatch, and related cloud technologies.

- Exposure to Datadog or similar monitoring and observability platforms.

- Knowledge of at least one data integration, orchestration, or transformation tool, such as Informatica, Apache Airflow, Astronomer, or dbt.

- Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data quality practices.

- Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment best practices.

- Comfortable participating in production support, incident management, on-call rotations, and troubleshooting activities.

- Understanding of monitoring, alerting, SLA management, and operational support processes.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
