Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Battery Management System (BMS) Software Lead with 7–8 years of experience in automotive embedded software development. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in both Application Software (ASW) and Basic Software (BSW), with hands-on experience in BMS architecture, AUTOSAR, embedded C development, software integration, and functional safety. The role involves leading software development activities, mentoring engineers, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality automotive software compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

- Lead the development of BMS software from requirements through design, implementation, integration, and validation.
- Define software architecture and module interfaces for both ASW and BSW.
- Guide ASW and BSW engineers on technical solutions, coding standards, and best practices.
- Drive software design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
- Support project planning, effort estimation, and risk mitigation activities.

Application Software (ASW)

- Develop and integrate BMS application functions including:

- State of Charge (SOC)

- State of Health (SOH)

- State of Power (SOP)

- Cell balancing

- Charging and discharging control

- Thermal management

- Battery protection strategies

- Diagnostics and fault management

- Operating mode/state machine management
- Integrate battery algorithms with hardware interfaces.
- Optimize software performance, memory usage,



and execution timing.

Basic Software (BSW)

- Configure and integrate AUTOSAR Basic Software modules.

- Configure and integrate

- MCAL Drivers

- Operating System (OS)

- Runtime Environment (RTE)

- Communication Stack (CAN/CAN FD/LIN)

- Diagnostic Stack (UDS/DCM)

- NVM and Memory Stack

- Watchdog Manager

- ECU State Manager
- Support bootloader integration and software flashing.
- Debug driver and hardware interface issues.

Integration & Validation

- Perform software integration on target hardware.
- Support SIL, HIL, and vehicle-level testing.
- Analyze and resolve software defects.
- Support calibration and system validation activities.
- Work closely with hardware, systems, validation, and calibration teams.

Functional Safety & Quality

- Develop software compliant with ISO 26262.
- Support safety analysis including FMEA, FTA, and safety mechanisms.
- Ensure ASPICE-compliant software development processes.
- Maintain bidirectional requirements traceability.
- Ensure adherence to MISRA C guidelines and secure coding practices.

Required Technical Skills

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Instrumentation, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

- 7 to 12 years in automotive embedded software development.
- At least 4 years of hands-on BMS software development.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 automotive suppliers.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
