Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Jewellery CAD Designer role based in Bengaluru. The Jewellery CAD Designer will create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings for fine jewellery designs aligned with BlueStone’s aesthetic and manufacturing standards.
Responsibilities include translating sketches and concepts into production-ready CAD files, refining designs based on feedback from design leads and merchandising teams, and ensuring accuracy in measurements, stone settings, and metal specifications. The role involves collaborating closely with product development, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure feasibility, structural integrity,
and optimal finishing of each design. The Jewellery CAD Designer will also maintain organized design libraries, adhere to timelines for new collections, and support continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in jewellery-focused CAD software (e.g., Rhino, Matrix, JewelCAD or similar) and ability to create precise 3D models and technical drawings.
- Solid understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes, including casting, stone setting, polishing, and finishing, with an eye for structural integrity and wearability.
- Knowledge of gemstones, diamonds, and precious metals (gold, platinum, etc.), including settings, weight considerations, and design constraints.
- Creative design skills with the ability to interpret mood boards, sketches, and trends into modern, market-ready jewellery collections.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in measurements, and ability to work with production teams to resolve design and feasibility issues.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with design, merchandising, and manufacturing stakeholders in a fast-paced setting.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Jewellery Design, CAD Design, Industrial Design, or a related field; professional jewellery design certification is an added advantage.
- Prior experience as a Jewellery CAD Designer or in a similar role within a fine jewellery or fashion accessories brand is preferred.
