Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Java Architect / Java Team Lead with over 10 years of software engineering excellence to lead technical execution, architecture design, and high-performing development teams. In this remote contract position, you will bridge hands-on Java microservices architecture with cloud implementation on AWS, while mentoring engineers, establishing code quality standards, and ensuring robust system scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Architecture & Design

- Design, architect, and optimize resilient, scalable, and secure microservices and distributed systems using Java/Spring Boot.
- Define end-to-end cloud deployment strategies on AWS, utilizing cloud-native patterns and best practices.
- Perform high-level system modeling, API design (RESTful/GraphQL), database architecture (SQL/NoSQL), and integration patterns.
- Lead architecture reviews, conduct performance tuning, and address bottleneck/security vulnerabilities.
- Team Leadership & Delivery Management
- Lead and mentor a team of senior and mid-level Java developers across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Conduct rigorous code reviews, enforce strict coding standards, and foster an agile continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) culture.




- Break down complex business requirements into clear technical specifications, user stories, and actionable engineering roadmaps.
- Partner with product managers, QA, and DevOps engineers to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

Core Requirements & Qualifications

- Experience: 10+ years of professional hands-on software development experience with Java (Java 11/17+ preferred).
- Team Leadership: 3+ years of proven technical leadership, team leading, or solution architect experience managing engineering teams.
- Core Stack: Deep expertise in Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, JPA/Hibernate), and REST API design.
- AWS & Cloud Infrastructure: Strong proficiency with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, SQS/SNS).
- Databases: Advanced experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- DevOps & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills suitable for managing remote technical teams and client-facing stakeholders.
