Job Title: Industrial Engineer

Location: Jay Jay Mills (India) Pvt. Ltd. — Processing Division, Sipcot, Perundurai

Role Summary The Industrial Engineer will drive productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the Processing Division (dyeing, printing, and finishing operations). The role involves machine performance analysis, downtime tracking, capacity planning, and the deployment of lean and Industry 4.0 tools to support data-driven decision-making on the floor.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives — Kaizen, 5S, waste elimination, and standard operating procedure (SOP) development.
- Monitor and analyse machine performance using daily batch/production reports.
- Carry out process improvement study - Track, categorize, report and identify root causes.
- Prepare and maintain monthly/rolling downtime and production trend workbooks for management review.
- Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and improve machine efficiency.
- Support Industry 4.0 integration efforts, including IoT/SCADA-based machine monitoring, ERP data integration.
- Collaborate with production, quality,



and maintenance teams to reduce downtime and improve first-time-right output & department efficiency.
- Prepare management presentations and reports summarizing efficiency trends.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, root-cause analysis).
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- B.Tech / B.E. in Industrial Engineering, Textile Technology, Textile Sciences & Engineering, or a related discipline with experience 0-3 or more years are preferred.
- Understanding of textile wet processing operations (dyeing, printing, finishing) preferred.
- Basic exposure to Industry 4.0 concepts (IoT, SCADA, ERP systems) is an advantage.
- Positive communication skills for cross-functional coordination and management reporting.

Preferred Attributes

- Prior internship or work experience in a textile manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on exposure to production/batch reporting systems (e.g., ORGATEX or similar).
- Ability to work independently on data compilation and shop-floor studies with minimal supervision.
