Job Summary The Apprenticeship program at Bread Financial provides the opportunity for aspiring and motivated professionals to gain specialized skill under the guidance of experienced colleagues. In a job shadowing based workplace, members of the Apprenticeship program consistently exhibit a willingness to learn, excel in time management, and grow, develop and prepare skills needed for future utilization at Bread Financial. An Apprentice will exist in the following areas of the business (*this list is subject to change based on needs of the business and organization).
- Enterprise Risk- BSA/AML, Complaints, Testing
- Human Resources- People Center, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development
- Credit Risk- Business Performance Management
- Information Technology- Service Delivery, InfoSec IAM, ePMO, Network & Systems, Application Development
- Client Partnerships & Marketing- Account Management, Partnership Marketing, Marketing Delivery, Marketing Performance
The Consumer Insights & Thought Leadership team helps the organization make informed, customer-centric decisions by combining three complementary research capabilities: Primary Research, Secondary Research, and Thought Leadership. Through primary research, the team generates consumer insights using surveys, interviews, focus groups, concept testing, and tracking studies.
Through secondary research, a new capability that the team is incorporating, the team aims to leverage existing market intelligence, industry reports, competitive analyses, and publicly available information to provide context and identify emerging opportunities.
Through thought leadership, the team synthesizes insights, trends, and strategic perspectives into compelling narratives that help stakeholders guide business strategy.
Together, these three research engines enable the team to deliver actionable insights, market context, and forward-looking perspectives that drive confident decision-making across the business.
Secondary Research Capability
As a newly established capability within the team, Secondary Research will serve as the organization's intelligence hub, transforming existing information into meaningful business insights. This role is responsible for monitoring industry trends, managing relationships with research vendors and subscriptions, tracking competitive activity, compiling market and vertical overviews, evaluating competitor offerings, and maintaining the team's knowledge repository.
Opportunities to develop market research skills also exist within the team.
Essential Job Functions:
- Communication: Demonstrate outstanding Verbal and Written communication skills when working with internal and external partners. Present information in a clear, concise, and professional manner utilizing technology and innovation. Build and maintain effective internal and external business partners. Identify, resolve and escalate concerns (associates, system, partner) as needed.
- Documentation and Technology: Learn to update and document account information and records, identify, resolve and escalate concerns in a timely manner, and respond to/redirect calls/issues as appropriate. Understands how to utilize knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams to execute daily work. Successfully utilize the technology expected by the organization as it relates to the role (e.g. SAS, SQL, Archer, etc.)
- Compliance: Learns now to follow established guidelines for quality and productivity. Regardless of responsibility, act responsibly at all times to minimize risk and ensure compliance. Provide documentation to ensure compliance responsibilities are met. Participate in internal and external audits by request to support the first, second, and third lines of defense within the organization.
- Collaboration: Observe importance of managing communication with supervisors, and coordinators from various departments and fostering collaborative relationships with Operations Leadership through verbal and written communication. Observe team member ability to influence peers and Operational partners on proposed business strategies in order to meet company objectives. Be well organized, flexible and willing to assist wherever possible.
- Reporting: Learn how to utilize reporting and other data to analyze performance and strategy effectiveness, solve problems and make decisions. Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work.
- Business Acumen: Actively seek out opportunities to expand knowledge of the broader business. By completing overviews of teams outside the area of rotation, project interactions, or other cross functional collaboration,
continuously expand knowledge of the organization, offerings, and innovations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Years of Work Experience Required: 12+ months with organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Excel E.g. VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, charts
- Experience with PowerPoint E.g. storytelling and communication, data visualization, charts
- Experience with Research E.g. secondary research, critical thinking, synthesis of information
