Independent Advertising Sales Representative

Anchor Media Inc. is looking for a confident, community-minded sales representative to help local businesses connect with customers through The Chestermere Anchor ePaper, CFTR The Rogue Community Radio, our websites, special publications and digital advertising platforms.

This is an independent, commission-based opportunity suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, finding creative advertising solutions and supporting locally owned businesses and community organizations.

What You’ll Do

Develop new advertising clients in Chestermere, Rocky View County, Calgary and surrounding communities.

Contact local businesses by telephone, email, social media and in-person visits.

Learn about each client’s goals and recommend appropriate print, radio, website and promotional packages.

Sell advertising in The Chestermere Anchor, on CFTR The Rogue and across Anchor Media’s digital platforms.

Promote seasonal advertising opportunities, special sections, community features and sponsorships.

Prepare sales proposals and follow up with prospective advertisers.

Maintain positive relationships with existing clients and identify renewal opportunities.

Keep accurate records of contacts, proposals, bookings and follow-up activity.

Work with Anchor Media’s production team to ensure advertising information and materials are submitted on time.

Flexible working hours and the ability to work primarily from home.

Recurring commission opportunities from active client accounts.

No cap on commissions.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in advertising, media, business development, retail sales or account management is an asset.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

A skilled, friendly and dependable approach.

Confidence making sales calls and approaching new businesses.

The ability to listen to clients and recommend solutions rather than simply sell ad space.

Good organizational and follow-up skills.

Familiarity with Chestermere and the surrounding region is an advantage.

Access to a telephone, computer, email and reliable transportation.





Ability to work independently while communicating regularly with the Anchor Media team.

Compensation This is a commission-only independent sales position with flexible hours.

25% commission on new advertising sales

15% commission on qualifying renewals

Recurring earning potential from ongoing advertising accounts

No limit on the number or value of accounts you may develop

There is no guaranteed salary, hourly wage or minimum number of hours.
