Position Details

- Job Title: Manager – Health, Safety, &
- Environment (HSE)

- Company: Sunshield Chemicals Ltd.

- Job Location: Rasal, Pali, Maharashtra, India

- Experience Required: 10 to 15 Years (Strictly in Chemical Manufacturing Industry)

Candidate Qualification Criteria

- Primary Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering OR B.Sc. in Chemistry

- Mandatory Certification: ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) from MSBTE (Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education).

- Industry Bar: Candidates from non-chemical sectors (Construction, Automobile, IT, Pharma-Formulation, or other general process industries) will not be considered.

Experience must be exclusively from a Chemical Manufacturing plant.

Core Purpose of the Role The HSE Manager will independently head, design, and enforce the health, safety, and environmental frameworks at our Rasal plant. The primary objective is to maintain a zero-accident operational culture by effectively managing hazardous chemical reactions, complex chemical manufacturing hazards, statutory compliances, and emergency response infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Process

Safety &

- Hazard Management

- Lead and facilitate HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies for new plant projects, product changes, and manufacturing line modifications.

- Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments including HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for chemical manufacturing lines.

- Implement critical safety barriers for Hazardous &
- Exothermic Reactions,



tracking Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), interlocks, and emergency relief devices (rupture disks, safety valves).

- Enforce strict Management of Change (MOC) protocols before any chemical process or engineering modification.

2.

Operational

Control &

- Work Permit System

- Own and audit the plant-wide Work Permit Management System covering High-Risk Operations: Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, Electrical Isolation (LOTO), and Cold Work.

- Conduct mandatory pre-work gas testing (LEL, toxic gas, oxygen levels) for hazardous maintenance routines on chemical reactors and storage tanks.

- Monitor daily shop-floor compliance, executing the authority to stop any unsafe or unpermitted acts immediately.

3. Fire Fighting &

- Emergency Management

- Manage the design, upkeep, and reliability of the plant’s Fire Fighting Systems, including fire hydrant networks, monitors, foam systems, and fire tenders designed for chemical hazards.

- Update and implement the site In office Emergency Plan (OEP) for chemical spills, toxic releases, and plant fires.

- Organize routine fire-fighting mock drills, toxic gas leak drills,



and emergency evacuation exercises for all staff and contractors.

4. Audits &

- Compliance Management

- Plan, coordinate, and execute rigorous internal and external Safety and Compliance Audits across all plant manufacturing blocks.

- Ensure 100% compliance with the Maharashtra Factories Rules, Environmental Protection Act, MPCB (Maharashtra Pollution Control Board) norms, and explosive rules.

- Coordinate external safety audits, statutory pressure vessel testing (Rule 65), and lifting equipment certifications (Rule 64).

Safety

Culture &

- Incident Management

- Design and execute comprehensive safety training, induction modules, and daily Toolbox Talks to build safety awareness across 200+ chemical plant employees and contractors.

- Lead investigations for all near-misses, minor, and major incidents using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques.

- Track plant safety performance metrics (KPIs) like Lagging Indicators (LTIFR) and Leading Indicators (Unsafe Acts/Conditions reported).

Technical &

- Behavioral Skills Required

- Deep understanding of chemical properties, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and handling hazardous solvents/gases.

- Experience in dealing directly with local statutory authorities (DISH, MPCB).

- Strong leadership, assertiveness, and communication skills to influence safety behaviors on the shop floor.

Pay: ₹14,577.65 - ₹73,398.37 per month
