Role Overview The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is part of Rocket Learnings People Culture team and partners closely with leaders across an assigned cluster of states/functions to build engaged, high-performing teams that can deliver impact at scale. The HRBP role will start by building strong foundations across the employee lifecycle, gradually growing into broader business partnering responsibilities to drive impact. The role will also involve leading an organisation-wide People Culture initiative contributing to the systems, processes, and programmes that strengthen employee experience at Rocket Learning.

Base Locations Key Responsibilities
- HR Business Partnering: Partner with leaders across the assigned state cluster on people priorities and workforce planning.
- Identify people trends, risks, and opportunities, and work with leaders to implement interventions.
- Partner on performance, talent, and annual compensation review processes across the assigned region.
- Support organisational change initiatives and help drive adoption of key People Culture programmes.
- Coach and support managers on people practices including performance conversations, employee relations, feedback, and team effectiveness.
- Organisation-wide People Initiatives: Serve as a core team member on at least one pan-organisation project (e.g., engagement survey administration, performance process rollout, policy harmonisation, culture initiatives).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Talent Acquisition on workforce planning, hiring priorities, and onboarding effectiveness keeping governance in line with guidelines.
- Work closely with HR Operations Compliance to ensure consistent implementation of policies, processes, and statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with Employee Experience and LOD teams to strengthen engagement, manager capability, learning initiatives, and organisational culture.
- Analytics: Use people data and insights to inform decisions, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor or Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field
- Experience: 2-4 years of HR generalist / HR Business Partner experience
- Prior experience in the development sector / non-profit / ed-tech / multi-location organisation is an advantage
Skills
- Working knowledge across the HR lifecycle onboarding, performance, engagement, ER, compliance
- Ability to build rapport and credibility with state/regional teams
- Ability to execute against a project plan, meet timelines, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- Openness to feedback and coaching, given this is an evolving, newly created role
Languages
- Fluency in English and Hindi. Working knowledge of the regional language of the base state (e.g. Marathi, Telugu) will be required in non-Hindi speaking states.
