Qualifications: • High School Certificate. • Technical or vocational training is preferred. Experience: • 1–2 years of experience in a foundry, D.I. pipe plant, or heavy manufacturing environment. • Experience in molten metal handling or casting operations is preferred.
Skills: Technical Skills: • Basic knowledge of molten metal handling and casting operations.
• Ability to measure molten metal temperature.
• Ability to operate the hopper safely.
• Basic understanding of casting quality requirements.

Key accountabilities: • Prepare and inspect the hopper before production starts.
• Keep the hopper clean by removing slag and metal deposits.
• Check and record the molten metal temperature before and during casting.
• Inform the Casting Foreman if the metal temperature is outside the required range.
• Supply molten metal to the casting machine safely and continuously.
• Verify the correct ladle and molten metal are used for production.
• Coordinate with the Pouring Crane Operator during metal transfer.
• Ensure slag buckets are in the correct position, and the work area is clean and safe.
• Record the use of inoculants, de-slagging powder, and other consumables.
• Carry out routine checks on the hopper and report any equipment problems.
• Follow all safety, quality, and operating procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Casting Foreman.
