Job Purpose The Senior Highway Design Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, reviewing, and delivering highway and transportation infrastructure projects. The role involves geometric design, corridor modelling, DPR preparation, junction design, interchange planning, quantity estimation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of IRC, MORTH, NHAI, and RDSO standards and have hands-on experience in the design of highways, expressways, flyovers, interchanges, ROBs, VUPs, LVUPs, bypasses, and urban transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Rolesand Responsibilities





- Prepare geometric design of highways, expressways, bypasses, ring roads, urban roads, and transportation corridors.
- Develop horizontal and vertical alignments in accordance with IRC and MORTH standards.
- Design carriageways, service roads, frontage roads, and approach roads.
- Prepare road profiles, super elevation layouts, widening transitions, and cross-sectional details.
- Design highway improvements considering safety, capacity, and operational efficiency.
- Develop corridor models using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Prepare detailed cross-sections and earthwork calculations.
- Generate road templates using Subassembly Composer.
- Perform corridor optimization to minimize earthwork and project costs.
- Design at-grade intersections and grade-separated interchanges.
- Design Flyovers, ROBs, RUBs, VUPs, LVUPs, Underpasses, and Cloverleaf/Trumpet Interchanges.
- Design slip roads, acceleration and deceleration lanes.
- Conduct traffic movement studies and turning movement analysis.
- Optimize junction layouts to improve traffic flow and reduce land acquisition requirements. phases.
- Attend design review meetings and technical presentations.
- Conduct swept path analysis using Vehicle Tracking software.
- Perform traffic simulations using PTV VISSIM or similar tools.
- Review traffic impact studies and road safety requirements.
- Incorporate road safety measures as per IRC standards.
- Conduct design reviews and quality checks.
- Maintain project documentation and design records

Job Specification

- M.E./M.Tech in Structural Engineering/Bridge Engineering (Preferred)
- 8–15 years of experience in bridge and elevated structure design.
- EPC/design-build contractors and large infrastructure developers.
- Proven experience in highway, metro, railway, urban infrastructure, or transportation projects.
- Experience in detailed engineering and design consultancy projects preferred.
- Data-driven decision-making and strategic thinking.
