We are looking for a responsible and proactive Health &
- Safety Officer to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant working workplace across the organization. The role will involve regular visits to different sites, conducting safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, implementing safety procedures, conducting awareness programs, and ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Health &
- Safety Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure employees and site teams follow organizational safety guidelines.
- Identify potential workplace hazards and recommend appropriate preventive measures.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across all locations.
- Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and used where required.
1. Site Visits &
- Safety Inspections
- Travel regularly to different sites to conduct health and safety inspections.
- Conduct routine safety audits and identify unsafe conditions or practices.
- Prepare detailed site inspection reports and share findings with management.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions until closure.
- Monitor safety standards across all sites and ensure consistent implementation of policies.
1. Risk Assessment &
- Hazard Management
- Conduct risk assessments for workplace activities, facilities, equipment, and events.
- Identify potential hazards and evaluate associated risks.
- Recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain records of identified risks and actions taken.
- Review safety procedures periodically and recommend improvements.
1. Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response procedures.
- Coordinate fire safety drills, evacuation drills, first-aid training, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Ensure emergency exits, fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, alarms, and other safety equipment are accessible and functional.
- Coordinate with emergency services and relevant authorities when required.
- Investigate emergencies and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
1. Incident &
- Accident Management
- Record and investigate workplace accidents, incidents, near misses, and injuries.
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate incident and accident records.
- Monitor implementation of corrective actions.
- Report serious incidents to management immediately.
1. Training &
- Awareness
- Conduct regular health and safety training for employees and site staff.
- Organize safety awareness sessions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
- Educate employees on safe working practices and emergency procedures.
- Maintain records of safety training and participation.
1. Compliance &
- Documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, fire, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain safety-related documents, inspection reports, licenses, certificates, and records.
- Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, inspectors, and authorities when required.
- Ensure required safety certificates and inspections are completed within timelines.
1. Vendor &
- Contractor Safety
- Ensure contractors and service providers follow organizational safety requirements.
- Verify safety documentation and compliance of contractors where applicable.
- Monitor contractor activities during site visits.
- Report non-compliance and ensure corrective action is taken.
1. Safety Equipment &
- Facilities
- Inspect fire extinguishers, fire alarms, emergency exits, first-aid kits, safety signage, and other safety equipment.
- Coordinate periodic servicing and maintenance of safety equipment.
- Ensure safety signage and emergency instructions are properly displayed.
- Maintain records of inspections and servicing.
1. Reporting &
- Coordination
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly safety reports.
- Maintain records of site inspections, incidents, risk assessments, training, and corrective actions.
- Provide regular safety updates and recommendations to management.
- Coordinate with Administration, HR, Operations, Facilities, and site teams on safety-related matters.
Required Skills &
- Competencies
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
- Good understanding of risk assessment and hazard identification.
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct safety inspections and prepare reports.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
- Ability to train and motivate employees on safety practices.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations.
- Willingness to travel regularly to different sites.
Qualifications &
- Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Occupational Health &
- Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health &
- Safety, or a related field.
- Relevant safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Experience: 36 years of relevant experience in health and safety.
- Experience in conducting site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and safety training is preferred.
- Experience working across multiple sites/locations will be an advantage.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly will be preferred.

- Completion of scheduled site safety inspections.
- Timely closure of identified safety observations and corrective actions.
- Reduction in workplace accidents and incidents.
- Compliance with health and safety policies and applicable regulations.
- Completion of emergency drills and safety training as scheduled.
- Accuracy and timely submission of safety reports.
- Proper maintenance and availability of safety equipment.
- Improved safety awareness and compliance among employees and site tea
