About CodeYogi Foundation
CodeYogi Foundation gives underserved students across India early access to deep AI fluency practical rather than theoretical, mobile-first, in the student's own language, with an AI tutor on the phone already in their hand. No laptop, no English requirement, no teacher in the loop. We've reached 4 lakh+ students across 9 states and 100+ districts, nearly half of them girls, with roughly 95% learning on a smartphone alone.
We're a Section 8 non-profit, driven by impact, not profit. We bootstrapped for five years on the founder's own funding, began external fundraising in October 2025, and we're aiming for 10 lakh students by 2027 and 50 lakh by 2030.
Reaching more schools is no longer our hard problem. Understanding what is actually working across districts, schools, teachers and students and systematically fixing what isn't is. Today our district partnerships, rollouts, enrolments, teacher relationships and student engagement are run by a committed but junior team, with no clearly defined SOPs, no clear KPIs, and nobody continuously reviewing what's working and picking up the signals.
That is costing us: in our district relationships, in our teacher relationships, and in student retention. At 10 lakh students, it compounds.
That's the gap this role exists to close.
The Role
You will build and continuously improve the operating system behind CodeYogi's programs.
The junior team continues to execute the day-to-day. What we need above that execution layer is senior operational leadership: someone who defines the right SOPs and KPIs, makes sure they're actually followed, reads performance data with judgment, investigates what's really going on, and turns what they learn into a better system.
The role runs as a continuous loop:
Define SOPs and KPIs → drive adoption → measure performance → investigate problems → improve the system → repeat.
You won't just be expected to keep operations running. You'll be expected to understand why they are performing the way they are, and what needs to change. You'll work directly with CodeYogi's leadership on the decisions that follow.
One line from inside our team captures the weight of it: whatever signal you miss will be missed by the organisation altogether.
What You'll Do
Build the operating system
- Define clear, detailed SOPs for district partnerships, rollouts, enrolments, teacher relationships and student engagement.
- Identify the KPIs that genuinely reflect program health deciding what to measure and, just as importantly, what not to.
- Set up the measurement needed to track those KPIs reliably.
- Establish operating rhythms and review mechanisms so these become working systems, not documents and dashboards nobody acts on.
Review performance and decide where to act
- Review program operations and KPIs on a disciplined cadence.
- Spot the signals that need attention, and decide which problems warrant intervention and where the team should focus.
- Question whether the metrics themselves are showing the right picture, and improve the measurement where they aren't.
Investigate and improve
- Dig into the causes behind what the data shows on the ground if needed rather than settling for the first available explanation.
- Speak with the people involved, examine the data, and separate symptoms from underlying operational problems.
- Test changes to processes, including A/B tests, and evaluate whether they actually produce better outcomes.
- Build what works back into SOPs, measurement and team practice, so improvements become systematic rather than one-off fixes.
Lead the program operations team
- Lead and guide the junior team responsible for day-to-day execution.
- Create clarity on what good execution looks like, and hold the team accountable to it.
- Mentor the team on why processes and measurement matter, even when they feel counterproductive in the short term.
- Help the team build operational judgment rather than relying only on instructions.
What You'll Get
- A system of your own making. You're not inheriting someone else's playbook. The SOPs, the KPIs, the review cadence you build them, at a program already serving 4 lakh+ students across 100+ districts.
- Leverage most operators never get. What you choose to measure becomes what the organisation sees. Your judgment directly shapes how CodeYogi scales from 4 lakh to 10 lakh students and beyond.
- A direct line to leadership. You work with CodeYogi's leadership on the decisions that matter, without layers in between.
- Visible impact. Better retention and stronger district and teacher relationships the results of your system show up in the lives of students who would otherwise finish school without ever getting near this technology.
What We're Looking For
We expect 8+ years of professional experience with real ownership of operations, process improvement and team leadership. We're less interested in the titles you've held than in evidence that you've actually done this work. Prior non-profit experience is not required.
- Full-cycle operations experience — Has been there, done that: set up SOPs and KPIs for an operation at scale, measured performance, diagnosed problems, and improved the system. The complete loop, not just one part of it.
- Process and systems thinking — Turns messy, people-heavy work into clear, practical, repeatable processes without making them unnecessarily bureaucratic.
Knows a good SOP isn't a well-written document; it's one the team actually follows.
- KPI and data judgment — Identifies which metrics actually matter rather than measuring everything measurable. Comfortable reading operational data, spotting patterns and anomalies, and deciding where to look harder. Doesn't confuse dashboards with answers.
- Investigative problem-solving — Questions everything and measures before believing. Moves between data, process observation and conversations with people on the ground to find the real cause rather than settling for the first explanation.
- Team leadership — Has led teams and can turn systems into consistent execution. Sets expectations, reviews performance, creates accountability, and inspires a relatively junior team to work with greater clarity and discipline.
- Discipline — Holds a strict cadence of measurement and improvement, and follows a problem all the way through: noticing it, investigating it, making a change, then checking whether the change actually worked.
- Attention to detail — Notices the inconsistencies, weak signals and gaps others overlook. This role sits at the top of program operations, which means any signal that escapes their eye escapes the organisation.
- Clear communication — Articulate enough that processes and expectations land exactly as intended, so the team understands not only what needs to happen but what good execution looks like.
Nice to Have
These strengthen a candidature but aren't essential on Day 1:
- Experience setting up automations with AI.
- AI fluency for data analysis — comfortable using AI to extract insights from data effectively.
How We Work at CodeYogi
Across roles, we value:
Mission Alignment · Ownership · Resourcefulness · Empathy · Integrity · Communication & Collaboration · Adaptability · Excellence
These aren't substitutes for the capabilities above. They describe how we expect people at CodeYogi to approach their work and work with each other.
One Significant Clarification
This is not a role where you personally take over routine district coordination, enrolment execution or everyday teacher follow-ups. There is already a program team responsible for execution. Your job is to make that execution systematic, measurable and continuously better and to bring the senior judgment and leadership the function currently lacks. If you're looking for a purely hands-on field role, this isn't it. If you're looking to build the machine that makes the field work at scale, it is.
It's also not a role for someone who assumes too much or forms opinions without due diligence. We're looking for someone who questions everything and measures everything before believing anything.
Interested?
If you've built operational systems before and enjoy figuring out why things work, why they don't, and how to make them better, we'd like to hear from you.
