Raya Fabrics is looking for an experienced Head Designer – Women’s & Kidswear to lead the design and development of commercially robust collections for European fashion buyers and brands.

We are looking for someone who understands not just fashion trends, but what sells in the European market — from relaxed silhouettes and resortwear to elevated everyday dressing.

Key Responsibilities -

- Lead European trend research, forecasting and seasonal direction using WGSN, Vogue Runway and relevant market intelligence.
- Develop mood boards, colour stories, print directions and collection concepts for European buyers.
- Translate global trends into commercial, production-ready styles suited to different European markets.
- Build seasonal ranges based on buyer briefs, historical performance, market trends and price architecture.
- Oversee design development from concept → fabric → print/embroidery → sampling → final product.
- Develop innovative fabrics, prints, embroideries and surface techniques suitable for European collections.
- Work closely with merchandising, sourcing and production teams to ensure design intent, quality and target costing are maintained.
- Lead buyer presentations, collection reviews, sample submissions and design follow-ups.
- Analyse selection ratios, buyer feedback and order conversion to continuously improve collections.
- Supervise photoshoots, lookbooks,



showroom presentations and collection merchandising.
- Lead, mentor and build a high-performing design team.

What we're looking for -

- 8–15 years of experience in fashion design, preferably with an export house serving European buyers.
- Strong understanding of European fashion aesthetics, silhouettes, colours, prints and commercial price points.
- Proven expertise in women’s wear and kidswear, particularly relaxed, contemporary and resort-led categories.
- Solid understanding of woven fabrics, viscose, cotton, linen blends, denim and sustainable fabrications.
- Experience developing prints, embroideries, embellishments and fabric stories.
- Ability to convert trends into commercial collections that buyers can actually sell.
- Strong presentation, communication and buyer-facing skills.
- Proficiency in CAD/design software; knowledge of CLO 3D or Browzwear will be an advantage.
- Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.

Someone who can bridge the gap between fashion creativity and commercial execution — a designer who understands European taste, buyer expectations, manufacturing realities and what makes a collection commercially successful.

Working Hours: Monday–Saturday | 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
