- Perform benchmarking and packaging studies on electrical modules/systems (e.g., Audible Vehicle Alert System, Engine Control Module / Unit, Combined Sensor Module, ADAS-Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), defining their optimal locations in the vehicle.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE) team, to understand feature and option definitions, support requests, develop engineered solutions, and ensure CAD structures accurately reflect product requirements.
- Perform conceptual mapping of CAD blocks to identified features and options, establishing logical connections prior to digital implementation.
- Independently design attachment schemes or bracket designs for electrical modules/systems, making technical decisions in collaboration with D&R; Engineers and suppliers as required.
- Conduct CAD experience in wiring harness design, wiring optimization studies, and drawing creation.
- Compile comprehensive variant data, including detailed Excel spreadsheets, based on newly generated CAD blocks for specific systems.
- Evaluate the suitability of published CAD block structures against defined features and options,
identifying and proposing necessary adjustments or refinements to ensure alignment with the feature-option matrix.
Skill set:
- Electrical system Engineer with CATIA & 3DX
Domain Knowledge:
- Experience in the automotive industry or product development environment.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Understanding of features, options, and variant management principles.
- Experience with large assembly management and performance optimization in CAD
- Prior experience performing benchmarking and packaging studies on electrical modules/systems. Should be able to independently design attachment schemes or bracket designs for electrical modules/systems.
