Role: GCP Devops/SRE Architect

Summary: In this role, the Senior Cloud Application Architect is responsible for designing, documenting and validating application modernization solutions that use GCP and AWS. They will leverage their extensive background in application architecture to bring new solutions to the market that help our customers transform their applications and realize the full value of the cloud. Help us connect the dots and evolve our cloud capabilities over time, but youre also evolving your own capabilities as an architect and keeping an eye on developments that can support our expansion, and help us implement those, too.

Primary Responsibilities

- Planning, designing, and developing cloud-based solutions to be piloted with multiple customers to determine profitability and viability at scale.
- Provide solutions training to our internal sales & delivery teams, as well as update them based on delivery & customer feedback.
- Educating teams on the implementation of recent cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
- Work within cross-functional teams to bring validated solutions to market.
- Consult on Professional Services Engagements to help our customers design and implement systems that are robust and well suited to their target infrastructure.
- Design and build reusable, repeatable toolsets, components and modules for future use with other clients where possible.
- Provide client presentations to review project design, outcomes and recommendations.
- Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems.
- Lead and develop best practices for the larger Cloud team.




- Remain current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering; Master’s degree a plus.
- Experience architecting, designing, and developing applications on AWS and/or GCP platforms
- Certification as an AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification, and/or Google Cloud Engineer Certification a plus. (Other cloud-related certifications are also a plus.)
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with multiple programming languages and frameworks
- Proven ability to help customers break apart monolithic apps into cloud-native services.
- Deep understanding of a microservices architecture with demonstrable experience in the design, build, and operations of microservices in a production environment
- Experience or understanding of building REST, GraphQL, and gRPC-based microservices
- Understanding of Application deployment/configuration processes
- Strong Systems Architecture background - Infrastructure, OS - Windows/Linux/others, Networking, Data Storage, Backup, DR Solutions, etc.
- Experience with CI/CD and automated delivery systems.
- Experience with large-scale migration of application workloads from on-prem or collocated data centers to a cloud platform




- Advanced understanding/exposure to API management concepts
- Experience defining API governance, standards & best practices, and center of excellence
- Experience developing API strategy and capability roadmaps aligning to enterprise goals
- Experience developing API architectures, implementations, integrations, and deployments
- Infrastructure provisioning (Terraform, CloudFormation, Cloud Foundry, others)
- Containers & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Helm)
- Five years of experience in developing software using languages such as Java, Python, C++, Go, or Ruby.Scripting & Infrastructure automation skills - Python, Powershell, Bash, ZSH, etc.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing Ctasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
- Comfortable presenting/demonstrating to internal and external stakeholders
- Interest in Cloud Engineering/Architecture and its impact on greater business practices.
- Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required.
