Job Title: D2C Production & Merchandising Lead

Location: Surat Type: Full-time Experience: 3–6 years (Fashion / Apparel background preferred)

Role Overview

We are looking for a D2C Production & Merchandising Lead who will own the entire production lifecycle for Fabric Pandit’s D2C segment - from sampling and development to bulk production, restocking, and delivery timelines.

This is not a support role. This position requires end-to-end responsibility, strong technical knowledge, leadership on the production floor, and the ability to build systems that ensure quality, efficiency, and minimal wastage.

You will autonomously manage the department, coordinate with karigars and internal teams, and ensure that production runs smoothly, on time, and at Fabric Pandit’s quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Source fabrics, trims, laces, embellishments, and other raw materials from vendors and suppliers.
- Coordinate with design, production, and procurement teams for smooth execution of collections and orders.
- Manage product development activities including sampling, approvals, and production follow-ups.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and quality standards with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Track purchase orders, production schedules, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to meet production requirements.




- Monitor product quality and coordinate with vendors to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, vendor communications, costing sheets, and production updates.
- Conduct market research on fabric trends, sourcing opportunities, and competitor offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiency and optimize costs.
- Prepare reports, MIS, and merchandising updates using Excel.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in textile merchandising, fabric sourcing, garment merchandising, or apparel manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of fabrics, textile processes, sourcing, and production workflows.
- Experience working with textile vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Positive knowledge of costing, order management, and production planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in women's ethnic wear, fabrics, or apparel manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Surat's textile market and supplier network.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management processes.
