About Akidha

We do not just sell medicines. We teach India how to understand them.

Akidha is building India's education led online pharmacy, focused on making chronic care affordable, understandable, and trusted. We help people choose quality certified substitutes to expensive branded medicines, with a doctor verification and a pharmacist check on every order. For a patient managing a lifelong condition, that is a saving of several lakh rupees over a lifetime, on medicine they finally understand.

We are still early, and we say so plainly. We serve thousands of households across India, we are building our technology and systems in house, and we are preparing for our first institutional round. The foundations of this company are being laid right now. Whoever joins at this stage will shape how Akidha works for years, rather than inherit a system someone else designed.

If you are excited by a 0 to 1 build, have been inside a fundraise before, understand the economics of a cash on delivery, inventory led business, and want to own the full scope of finance rather than a slice of it, we want to meet you.

What makes this role different

This is not an accounting role, and it is not a role for someone who waits to be asked. We need a finance leader who is a player and a coach at once, senior enough to guide the founders and run a data room, and hands on enough to build the model in a spreadsheet themselves, because for now there is no team beneath you. You will combine financial planning, commercial finance, fundraising readiness, governance, and systems building into one function.

The single most important quality is anticipation. We want someone who surfaces the risk, the leak, or the decision before it becomes a problem.

Responsibilities

Fundraise and investor readiness (core, immediate)

- Own the financial model for diligence. Clean it, defend it, and keep it investor ready.
- Resolve reconciliation gaps in founder capital and historical figures.
- Fix CAC attribution by channel so acquisition economics are trustworthy and defensible.
- Build and run the data room. Prepare investor reporting and board materials.
- Partner with the CEO through the raise, alongside any fractional advisor engaged for the round.

FP&A; and unit economics

- Build and own the operating plan, budgets, and rolling forecasts.
- Own the unit economics that matter here: CAC and LTV by channel, cohort and repeat economics, contribution margin, and cost per order.
- Analyze performance against plan and surface the levers, not just the variances.

Commercial finance and COD economics

- Model true contribution margin after RTO, not before it.
- Own the economics of cash on delivery: settlement and remittance cycles, gateway fees, RTO provisioning, and the working capital impact of COD.
- Evaluate pricing, discounts, and promotional effectiveness on a net basis.
- Support commercial negotiations with vendors and partners.

Cash, runway, and working capital

- Own runway and burn modeling, with scenario planning around the raise.
- Manage working capital across inventory, payables, and COD collection cycles.
- Establish payment controls and approval workflows.

Controls, governance, and related party discipline

- Build finance controls and compliance from the ground up.
- Establish and document robust procurement and related party governance, including independent price benchmarking of major suppliers, so the business is defensible under investor diligence.
- Ensure GST, TDS, income tax, and statutory compliance, and coordinate audits and filings.

Systems, MIS, and automation

- Drive the Zoho Books and Inventory implementation to completion and make it the reliable system of record.
- Build automated, trustworthy daily, weekly, and monthly MIS covering revenue, margins, collections, expenses, inventory, procurement, and logistics.
- Replace manual reporting off broken systems with clean, automated dashboards.

Business partnering and proactive guidance

- Work directly with the founders and function leads so every material decision is backed by financial insight.
- Proactively flag risks, leaks, and timing calls. Tell leadership what to do, and when, before being asked.
- Build finance as a strategic driver, not a support desk.

Requirements

Must have

- CA or MBA in finance, with a clear commercial and FP&A; orientation rather than a compliance only background.
- 5 to 9 years across FP&A;, commercial finance, or business finance.
- Experience at an inventory led, transaction heavy D2C, e-commerce, or e-pharmacy business,

ideally with meaningful cash on delivery exposure.
- Has built a finance function from scratch, or been the earliest finance hire in a 0 to 1 setting.
- Has been inside at least one institutional fundraise, close enough to have worked on the model, the data room, or investor reporting.
- Robust financial modeling, unit economics, and analytics.
- Working knowledge of COD and inventory working capital dynamics.
- Strong GST, TDS, and statutory compliance knowledge.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets.
- Excellent communication and the confidence to challenge founders with data.

Preferred

- Grew a company through roughly the stage transition Akidha is making now, seed or pre Series A to Series A or B.
- Led, not just observed, the build of finance in a 0 to 1 company.
- Experience in healthtech, e-pharmacy, or regulated goods.
- Direct experience owning a data room or investor reporting.

Positive to have

- ERP implementation experience, especially Zoho Books or Zoho Inventory.
- SQL or hands on data analysis.
- Dashboarding skills.

Key metrics you will own

- Revenue and gross margin
- Contribution margin after RTO, and cost per order
- CAC and LTV by channel
- EBITDA and burn, and months of runway
- Cash flow and working capital efficiency
- Inventory holding and near expiry write offs
- Budget versus actual
- MIS accuracy and timeliness
- Diligence and investor reporting readiness

What success looks like in the first six months

- The financial model is clean, defensible, and investor ready, and the data room exists.
- Founder capital and historical reconciliation issues are resolved.
- CAC by channel and true contribution margin after RTO are trusted numbers leadership acts on.
- Reliable automated MIS is live, and manual reporting is retired.
- Zoho is the reliable system of record.
- Related party and procurement governance is documented and diligence ready.
- Runway and burn are modeled, and leadership plans around them.
- Leadership relies on finance to flag issues early, not to report them late.

Who will thrive here

Someone who anticipates rather than reacts, builds systems from scratch, uses numbers to drive decisions, can simplify complexity into a clear call, has the spine to tell founders what they do not want to hear, and wants to own finance end to end rather than a narrow function.

Why join Akidha

Build the finance function from 0 to 1, own the full scope of finance through a live fundraise, work directly with the founders, and create real impact in a fast growing, mission led company making healthcare more affordable.
