About DragonX Systems
DragonX Systems is a US-based startup developing next-generation EDA tools for chip design and system simulation for global enterprise customers. The company focuses on solving complex, high-impact problems that advance what is possible in semiconductor design.
At DragonX, team members work directly on real business and technical challenges and gain exposure to customers, partners, and leaders across the international semiconductor industry. The company offers a fast-paced startup environment, a global vision, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced leadership, including a Stanford PhD with deep expertise in EDA and semiconductor design.
Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Founder’s Office Intern. You will work directly with the founders on high-priority business, strategy, customer development, research, and operational initiatives.
This is a highly hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys figuring things out independently, moving quickly, and working across different parts of a startup. Rather than being limited to a single function, you will get exposure to business development, sales, market research, product strategy, customer engagement, and startup operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with the founder on strategic and operational priorities across the company.
- Research semiconductor, EDA, AI hardware, and adjacent technology markets to identify customers, competitors, partnerships, and new business opportunities.
- Identify and qualify potential enterprise customers and strategic partners.
- Build and maintain targeted prospect lists and support outbound business development.
- Set up and manage outbound campaigns using Smartlead and Zapmail, including prospect segmentation,
personalization, campaign execution, follow-ups, and performance tracking.
- Prepare customer outreach, presentations, briefing documents, market maps, and other business materials.
- Support customer discovery and communication, including researching prospects before meetings and organizing follow-ups afterward.
- Analyze customer feedback and market signals and communicate insights to the product and leadership teams.
- Track business development activities, leads, opportunities, and follow-ups in CRM and spreadsheet systems.
- Conduct competitive intelligence and research on EDA companies, semiconductor companies, emerging startups, and relevant technologies.
- Assist with strategic projects such as new market evaluation, pricing research, partnerships, fundraising preparation, and go-to-market strategy.
- Work with product and engineering teams to translate customer and market feedback into actionable insights.
- Take ownership of ambiguous projects and drive them from research and planning through execution.
- Support the founder with ad-hoc projects where speed, judgment, and analytical thinking are significant.
What You Will Learn
This role provides unusually broad exposure to how a deep-tech startup is built. You will learn about:
- Enterprise B2B sales and business development
- Semiconductor and EDA markets
- Startup strategy and go-to-market
- Customer discovery and product-market fit
- Outbound sales and modern sales automation
- Competitive and market intelligence
- Working directly with founders and enterprise customers
- Building and operating a deep-tech startup
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to conduct high-quality research and turn information into actionable insights.
- Strong ownership mentality and willingness to take initiative without being given detailed instructions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
- Interest in semiconductors, EDA, AI hardware, deep technology, or enterprise software is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with tools such as Smartlead, Zapmail, CRM platforms, spreadsheets, LinkedIn, and other productivity or sales tools is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
Who This Role Is For
This role is ideal for someone who wants to learn how a deep-tech company is actually built, rather than being confined to a narrow internship function.
You should be comfortable going from researching a semiconductor company in the morning, to building an outbound campaign, preparing for a customer meeting, analyzing market data, and helping the founder solve an entirely new problem in the afternoon.
High initiative, curiosity, analytical ability, and execution matter more than having prior startup experience.
