We are a recruiting firm hiring a Chief of Staff for the Founder's Office of one of our clients: a funded, venture-backed startup growing fast. Small team, high visibility, zero bureaucracy. Company details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
About the roleWhether your last title was Chief of Staff, Founder's Associate, or you sat in a founder's office running strategy and operations, the job here is the same: you are the CEO's right hand, sitting at the center of everything the company does. One week you might be building an investor update, the next you are unblocking a hiring pipeline, running a go-to-market experiment, or fixing a business operations process that is breaking as they scale.
You will see every function up close: sales, product, hiring, fundraising, strategy, and operations. You will be in the rooms where decisions get made, and you will be expected to have opinions in those rooms.
To be upfront: this is not a 9 to 5. The pace is intense, the hours flex with what the business needs, and the ambiguity is constant. If you want a defined lane and a predictable schedule, this role will frustrate you. If you have done this job before and loved it, read on.
What you'll do
- Act as a force multiplier for the CEO: own the founder's priorities end to end, from prep to execution to follow-through
- Drive special projects and strategic initiatives across functions: GTM experiments, hiring sprints, ops fixes, market research, whatever the business needs most that month
- Build decks, models, memos,
and dashboards that drive real decisions (board updates, investor materials, internal business reviews)
- Run point on cross-functional initiatives, chasing down owners and removing blockers until things ship
- Sit in on leadership, investor, and client conversations, capture what matters, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
- Spot problems before they become fires and fix them without being asked
Who you are
- You have already worked as a Chief of Staff, in a Founder's Office, or as a Founder's Associate or EIR at a startup. This is a hard requirement. This role is not open to consultants, investment bankers, or people hoping to break into this kind of role for the first time
- You know what the job actually involves: the ambiguity, the context switching, the odd hours, and you have thrived in it before
- Extremely high ownership: you close loops, you do not wait to be told, and "not my job" is not in your vocabulary
- Structured thinker who communicates clearly in writing and in person
- Solid with numbers and tools: spreadsheets, decks, and ideally AI tools and modern SaaS
- Low ego, high urgency, and bias to action
What's on offer
- A front-row seat to company building, working directly with the founder daily
- Ownership and decision-making exposure most people wait a decade for
- A clear launchpad: people in this seat typically grow into leadership roles in strategy, operations, or growth
- Competitive compensation
