We’re looking for a Footwear Designer who blends creativity with commercial intelligence. Someone who can design trend-right footwear while also understanding consumer demand, pricing logic, and merchandising strategy. This role is perfect for a designer who enjoys working end-to-end from concept to shelf.
Key Responsibilities:
1 - Design & Product Development
- Create seasonal footwear collections aligned with brand identity, customer profiles, and market trends.
- Develop sketches, mood boards, material stories, and tech packs for sampling.
- Collaborate with vendors, factories, and internal teams to ensure timely sample development.
- Ensure product quality, fit, comfort,
and durability meet brand standards.
2 - Merchandising & Business Alignment:
- Analyse sales data, customer insights, and market trends to plan winning assortments.
- Work with merchandising to define category mix, price points, and SKU depth.
- Participate in range planning, forecasting, and seasonal buying decisions.
- Ensure designs are commercially viable and aligned with revenue goals.
3 - Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with sourcing, production, and marketing teams for seamless product launches.
- Coordinate with the e-commerce and retail teams to ensure product storytelling and visual merchandising are aligned with design intent.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Footwear Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in footwear design; experience in merchandising is a strong advantage.
- Robust understanding of materials, lasts, construction techniques, and comfort engineering.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar design tools.
- Ability to interpret data and translate insights into design and assortment decisions.
- Strong aesthetic sense, trend awareness, and commercial mindset.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and vendor coordination skills.
