Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Embedded Firmware Engineer role based at Galler’s research facilities in Manesar.

The Embedded Firmware

Engineer designs, develops, and maintains firmware for security and automation products, including outdoor payment terminals and related systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and optimizing embedded code, integrating firmware with hardware components, performing debugging and testing, and ensuring reliable performance in field deployments. The role also involves collaborating with hardware, software, and product teams to translate requirements into technical specifications, contributing to design reviews, and supporting production and field teams in diagnosing and resolving firmware issues.

The engineer is expected to document firmware designs,



follow best practices in version control and configuration management, and contribute to continuous improvement of Galler’s embedded platforms.

Qualifications

- Strong embedded programming skills in C/C++ for microcontrollers and microprocessors, with experience in low-level drivers and hardware interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded Linux, and firmware architecture for industrial or IoT devices.
- Proficiency in using debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment for troubleshooting hardware–firmware interactions.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and common wireless standards.
- Experience with secure coding practices, encryption, and security considerations for payment or access-control systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), build systems, and continuous integration workflows for embedded projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to interpret schematics, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Prior experience in industrial automation, payment terminals, or telecom/retail technology solutions is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to work on-site in a lab and production setting.
