Job Purpose To ensure the safety of guests, employees, visitors, and hotel property by maintaining effective fire prevention, fire-fighting, emergency response, and life-safety systems in accordance with statutory requirements and hotel safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fire & Life Safety
- Monitor and maintain all fire and life-safety systems in the hotel.
- Ensure fire alarm, fire hydrant, sprinkler, fire pump, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and other safety equipment are operational.
- Conduct regular inspections of fire safety equipment and report defects immediately.
- Ensure fire exits, emergency staircases, corridors, and escape routes remain clear and accessible.
- Check fire doors and ensure they are properly maintained and functional.
2. Fire Prevention & Inspection
- Conduct daily fire-safety rounds across guest rooms, restaurants, kitchens, banquet areas, back-of-house, electrical rooms, stores, and other critical areas.
- Identify fire hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor housekeeping of electrical, kitchen, LPG/gas, storage, and service areas.
- Ensure no unauthorized storage or obstruction is present in emergency areas.
- Maintain proper records of inspections, defects, and corrective actions.
3. Emergency Response
- Respond immediately to fire alarms and other emergency situations.
- Assist in evacuation of guests and employees during emergencies.
- Coordinate with the Security, Engineering, Front Office, and other departments during emergency situations.
- Liaise with the Fire Department, police, ambulance services, and other emergency agencies when required.
- Participate in emergency drills and evaluate response effectiveness.
4. Fire Drills & Training
- Conduct regular fire drills and evacuation exercises.
- Train hotel employees on fire prevention, extinguisher usage, emergency evacuation, and basic fire response procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for employees and contractors.
- Maintain attendance and training records.
5. Fire Equipment & Systems
- Monitor the condition and readiness of:
- Fire extinguishers
- Fire hydrant system
- Sprinkler system
- Fire pumps
- Fire alarm and detection system
- Emergency exits and exit signage
- Emergency lighting
- Fire control room
- Kitchen fire suppression systems
- Public address/emergency communication systems
- Coordinate with Engineering and approved vendors for preventive maintenance and servicing.
6. Statutory Compliance
- Support compliance with applicable fire and life-safety regulations and local Fire Department requirements.
- Maintain required fire safety records, certificates, inspection reports, and maintenance documents.
- Ensure fire NOC and related statutory documents are valid and available.
- Assist during inspections by government authorities and fire officials.
7. Incident Reporting
- Prepare reports for fire alarms, incidents, near misses, safety hazards, and emergency situations.
- Maintain the fire incident and drill registers.
- Investigate the basic cause of fire-safety incidents and recommend preventive measures.
- Immediately escalate critical safety concerns to management.
8. Hotel Operations Support
- Review fire-safety arrangements for banquets, conferences, events, restaurants, kitchens, and other high-occupancy areas.
- Ensure appropriate emergency arrangements during large events.
- Monitor hot work, welding, gas/LPG handling, and other activities involving fire risk.
- Ensure contractors follow hotel safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Certificate in Fire & Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant fire and safety certification preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hotel, commercial building, hospital, mall, or similar facility.
- Knowledge of fire-fighting equipment, evacuation procedures, fire alarm systems, and emergency response.
- Basic computer knowledge and good documentation skills.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
