About ELAVEENELAVEEN is a contemporary fashion brand creating contemporary Indo-Western clothing for men and women, combining Indian-inspired motifs, prints and craftsmanship with modern silhouettes.

Our collections span day wear, office wear, resort wear, casual wear and evening/date wear, with a strong focus on distinctive design, commercial pricing and wearable fashion.

We are looking for a Fashion Designer & Product Developer who can take a design from concept to a production-ready garment while maintaining both the ELAVEEN aesthetic and target manufacturing cost.

Role OverviewThis is not only a fashion-design role.

The ideal candidate should understand:

Design + Fabric + Fit + Construction + Costing + Sampling + Production

You will work closely with the founder, pattern masters, sample units, fabric/trim suppliers, printers, embroiderers and garment manufacturers to develop commercially viable ELAVEEN collections.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop seasonal collections for women’s and men’s apparel
- Translate ELAVEEN concepts and moodboards into commercially viable designs
- Design women’s:
- Tops and blouses
- Shorts
- Mini, midi and long skirts
- Trousers
- Dresses
- Jumpsuits
- Co-ords
- Jackets, shrugs and capes
- Design men’s:
- Printed and solid shirts
- Resort shirts
- Polos
- Trousers
- Shorts
- Co-ords
- Lightweight jackets and overshirts
- Create detailed technical sketches and tech packs
- Prepare:
- Measurement/specification sheets
- BOMs
- Construction details
- Fabric and trim specifications
- Print/embroidery placement details
- Select fabrics, trims, buttons, zippers and other components
- Work closely with pattern masters and sample tailors
- Attend sample fittings and provide fit corrections
- Coordinate sampling from first prototype to final approved sample
- Develop print, embroidery and placement concepts with textile/graphic designers
- Source and coordinate with fabric, printing and embroidery vendors
- Obtain preliminary manufacturing quotations before finalising designs
- Design garments according to predefined target production costs




- Simplify construction or materials where necessary without compromising the premium appearance
- Maintain seasonal colour, fabric and silhouette direction
- Develop reusable ELAVEEN blocks, patterns and signature design elements
- Coordinate with third-party manufacturers for production handover
- Review pre-production samples and support quality control
- Maintain organised records of tech packs, patterns, fabrics, trims and approved samples

Most Important RequirementThe candidate must understand commercial fashion design. We are specifically looking for someone who can answer questions such as:

“How can we make this garment 20% less expensive without making it look cheaper?”

The designer should understand how fabric consumption, pattern complexity, lining, embroidery density, printing techniques, trims and garment construction affect manufacturing cost.

- 3–6 years of relevant fashion/apparel industry experience
- Strong understanding of women’s western / contemporary Indo-Western fashion
- Good understanding of men’s contemporary and resortwear

- Sampling and product-development experience
- Apparel costing knowledge
- Knowledge of printing and embroidery techniques

- Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop or equivalent fashion-design software

- Ability to manage multiple styles simultaneously
- Ability to work within timelines and target costs

Location & Working ModelThe role will preferably be based in Ahmedabad / Gandhinagar/Delhi NCR with a hybrid working arrangement.
