Role Description The Environmental Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Karnataka, India, responsible for overseeing environmental performance and compliance within the distillery operations. This role involves monitoring environmental parameters, managing waste and resource usage, and ensuring that all activities comply with local, national, and industry-specific environmental regulations.
The Environmental
Manager will develop and implement environmental policies, conduct environmental impact assessments, and prepare reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating audits, training staff on Environment Health and Safety (EHS) practices, identifying environmental risks, and recommending improvements to reduce environmental footprint. The individual will collaborate with production, maintenance,
and quality teams to integrate sustainable practices into operational processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and have experience managing environmental issues within industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Candidates should possess skills in Environmental Compliance and Environmental Policy, including familiarity with relevant Indian and international regulations.
- Candidates should possess skills in Environmental Impact Assessment and analyzing environmental data to support decision-making and reporting.
- Candidates should possess skills in identifying and addressing Environmental Issues, with the ability to develop practical mitigation and improvement plans.
- Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
- Experience in food production, distillery, or process manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work on-site, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and lead training or awareness programs on environmental best practices.
- Proficiency in using standard office software and environmental monitoring tools, along with good communication and stakeholder management skills.
