Job Responsibilities

- Develop process automation software modules for steel rolling mills and processing lines for data acquisition, production reporting, quality reporting, and system integration.

- Design and develop HMI screens to display real-time data from machines and control systems used in steel rolling mills and processing lines.

- Enable data exchange between different systems using OPC, TCP/IP, and UDP protocols.

- Integrate SQL databases for storing and retrieving production and process data.

- Apply Industry 4.0 concepts such as data analytics and smart manufacturing to improve efficiency and enable predictive maintenance.

- Perform testing to demonstrate proper functionality and seamless integration with the overall process control system.

- Support site commissioning activities at steel plants; travel of approximately 30% may be required based on project needs.

- Generate supporting documentation as per team and customer requirements.

- Adhere to engineering best practices, design standards, and development processes. Suggest and implement improvements to processes and standards when appropriate.

- Work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team consisting of Level 1, Level 2, and field engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

- Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical,



Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering.

- Experience: 04 years (including internships or academic projects) in software programming or automation-related development.

Technical Skills

- Programming knowledge in Python, SQL, C++, VB, .NET, or other object-oriented languages.

- Basic understanding of database concepts (SQL Server / Oracle).

- Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for Web HMI development is an added advantage.

- Academic Performance: CGPA of 7.0 or above.

- Self-motivated and adaptable to dynamic project requirements.

- Willingness to travel for site commissioning on short notice.

Desired Qualifications

- Proficiency in MS Office tools for documentation.

- Exposure to PLC programming or industrial automation concepts.

- Knowledge of metals industry processes (Hot/Cold Mill, Process Lines, Bar/Wire Rod Mills) is an advantage.

- Exposure to HMI tools such as Cimplicity, Proficy iFIX, or Wonderware InTouch.
