Job summary The Endpoint Management Engineer is responsible for end-to-end management of enterprise endpoints (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and servers) using tools such as ManageEngine Endpoint Central, with a strong focus on patching, vulnerability remediation, security configuration, and lifecycle management. The role involves designing, implementing, and supporting scalable endpoint management solutions, ensuring endpoints remain secure, compliant, and highly available across geographically distributed environments.
Role & responsibilities
- Manage and administer endpoint management platforms such as ManageEngine Endpoint Central for large enterprise environments.
- Design, configure, and maintain software distribution, OS deployment (OSD/MDT/Autopilot), and application packaging workflows for Windows endpoints and servers.
- Plan and execute patch management cycles for Windows workstations and servers, including testing, approval, phased deployment, and reporting of security and feature updates.
- Implement and manage vulnerability remediation and compliance baselines, ensuring endpoints meet defined security and audit requirements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot clientserver/agentserver communication, resolving issues related to policy application, deployment failures, and component health.
- Administer endpoint security configurations, including Windows Defender/Endpoint Protection, USB and device control, BitLocker, browser security, and DLP policies (where applicable).
- Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory via automated asset scans and generate reports for license, compliance, and capacity planning.
- Perform advanced log analysis and root-cause investigation for complex deployment, patching, and configuration issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive permanent fixes.
- Collaborate with service desk, infrastructure, security, and application teams to streamline processes, improve SLA adherence, and enhance overall endpoint reliability and user experience.
- Provide L2/L3 escalation support to field/desktop teams for Endpoint Central-related incidents and changes.
- Participate in change, problem, and release management activities related to endpoint platform upgrades, feature rollouts, and security initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
- end-user computing with strong hands-on exposure to enterprise endpoint management.
- Solid hands-on experience with ManageEngine Endpoint Central or similar UEM tools, including patch management, configuration management, software deployment, remote control, and asset management.
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceDesk Plus Cloud and ServiceNow
- Solid understanding of Windows 10/11 client and Windows Server platforms, including servicing models, feature update management, and troubleshooting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for endpoint, network, and client-agent related issues, including log-based analysis.
- Good communication skills for working with global stakeholders via calls, email, and remote sessions.
