Job Title: Embedded Engineer The Embedded Engineer will design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for microcontroller-based systems. This role focuses on application and driver development in Embedded C and C , working on RTOS and Embedded Linux platforms, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-quality products. The position suits a self-motivated engineer who enjoys hands-on development, debugging complex issues, and contributing to both new product introductions and sustenance projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded applications and microcontroller drivers using Embedded C and C .
- Develop applications on RTOS and Embedded Linux platforms, including middleware and application layers.
- Implement and integrate embedded bus protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART for communication with peripherals and microcontrollers.
- Work with analog and digital hardware to interface with sensors, actuators, and other external devices.
- Develop and maintain firmware for microcontrollers from vendors such as Renesas, Microchip, and ST, using their respective tools and ecosystems.
- Use version control and issue tracking tools such as GitHub and JIRA, or similar platforms, to manage source code, branches, and development tasks.
- Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems using debuggers such as ICE, GDB, JTAG, and chip programmers to identify and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Contribute to new product introduction (NPI) projects and sustenance projects, following established processes and best practices.
- Apply embedded software design and development practices, including appropriate programming techniques, coding standards, and documentation.
- Collaborate with a highly skilled technical team, actively participating in design discussions, code reviews, and problem-solving sessions.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, manage work according to project timelines, and provide regular progress updates.
- Analyze complex technical situations with multiple variables and propose effective, practical solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying knowledge of process methodologies such as Six Sigma or equivalent.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and mentoring to team members to help build technical capabilities and support professional growth.
- Engage and motivate the team to achieve project goals and maintain high standards of quality and performance.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience in Embedded C and C application and microcontroller driver development.
- Experience in application development using RTOS and Embedded Linux platforms.
- Good exposure to embedded bus protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital hardware and interfacing with peripherals and microcontrollers.
- Experience in firmware development on Renesas, Microchip, and ST microcontrollers and familiarity with their development tools.
- Practical experience with version and source control tools such as GitHub and issue tracking tools such as JIRA or similar.
- Robust debugging skills using debuggers such as ICE, GDB, JTAG, and chip programmers.
- Solid knowledge of embedded software design and development practices, programming techniques, and language platforms.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively in a team environment.
- Proven ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver according to project timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations with multiple variables and resolve issues effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with wireless protocols such as MQTT, ZigBee, and LoRa is a plus.
- Experience working on new product introduction (NPI) and sustenance projects with a strong process orientation.
- Self-motivated mindset with a strong sense of initiative in resolving technical and process issues.
- Strong business acumen to understand product and project impact from a broader perspective.
- Coaching and mentoring skills to support the development of team members.

Work Environment The Embedded Engineer will work in a collaborative, technically focused environment alongside a highly skilled engineering team. The role involves extensive hands-on work with microcontrollers, embedded development tools, and debugging equipment such as ICE, GDB, JTAG, and chip programmers. Daily work includes using platforms such as RTOS, Embedded Linux, GitHub, and JIRA or similar tools to manage code, tasks, and project workflows.
The position requires close collaboration with hardware and software colleagues, regular participation in technical discussions and reviews, and adherence to structured development processes, particularly for new product introduction and sustenance projects.
