Role Description This is a full time, on-site role based in the Greater Vijayawada District for EHS In Charge / EHS Manager / EHS HOD / Safety Head / Safety Incharge. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures across the cement plant to maintain compliance with legal and corporate standards.
Day-to-day tasks include conducting safety inspections and audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and EHS performance reporting, as well as coordinating corrective and preventive actions.
The position oversees safety training and awareness programs for all employees and contractors, ensures proper use and maintenance of PPE, and drives continuous improvement initiatives in occupational health, process safety, and environmental performance. The role collaborates closely with operations, maintenance, and senior management to promote a strong safety culture and minimize environmental impact.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including implementation of EHS management systems and safety programs.
- Knowledge of Environmental Compliance and Environmental Policy, with experience applying relevant national and state regulations in an industrial setting.
- Ability to assess and address Environmental Issues and conduct Environmental Impact Assessment activities related to cement manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field; advanced certifications in EHS (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, safety diplomas) are an advantage.
- Proven experience in a senior EHS or Safety leadership role in cement, mining, construction, or related process industries.
- Strong skills in hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and conduct effective EHS training and toolbox talks across diverse workforce groups.
