Position: Senior Engineer – R&D; (Earthquake Engineering)
The Senior Engineer – R&D; (Earthquake Engineering) will undertake research, analysis and consultancy assignments related to seismic hazard, site response and earthquake-resistant geotechnical design. The role includes developing technically sound methodologies, performing advanced numerical analyses and supporting the implementation of seismic risk-reduction solutions for infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform Probabilistic and Deterministic Seismic Hazard Analyses (PSHA and DSHA).
· Develop site-specific response spectra and ground-motion parameters.
· Conduct site-response analyses.
· Select, process and scale earthquake ground-motion records.
· Assess the seismic response of various geotechnical systems.
· Perform dynamic numerical analyses.
· Support soil–structure interaction, liquefaction potential and seismic deformation assessments.
· Interpret geotechnical, geophysical and seismological data.
· Prepare technical proposals, reports and design recommendations.
· Review seismic analyses and technical outputs prepared by project teams.
· Develop R&D; methodologies, computational tools and technical procedures.
· Contribute to research papers, conference publications, patents and funded research proposals.
· Coordinate with clients, consultants, academic institutions and multidisciplinary teams.
· Guide junior engineers, researchers and interns.
· Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and quality procedures.
Technical Competencies
· Engineering seismology and earthquake geotechnical engineering.
· Seismic hazard assessment and ground-motion characterization.
· Strong-motion record processing and spectral analysis.
· Equivalent-linear and nonlinear site-response analysis.
· Agile soil behaviour and constitutive modelling.
· Liquefaction and seismic ground-deformation assessment.
· Dynamic numerical modelling and soil–structure interaction.
· Seismic instrumentation, monitoring and data interpretation.
· Statistical analysis, programming and engineering automation.
Preferred Software Skills
Experience with relevant tools such as:
· SeismoSignal, SeismoMatch or equivalent ground-motion software.
· DEEPSOIL or equivalent site-response software.
· OpenQuake or equivalent seismic hazard platforms.
· MIDAS GTS NX, PLAXIS, FLAC, ABAQUS or equivalent numerical software.
· MATLAB or Python for data processing and automation.
· GIS software for seismic hazard and spatial data analysis.
Educational Qualification
· A Ph.D. with 0-3 years of research focused on seismic hazard, site response, liquefaction, dynamic soil behaviour or seismic numerical modelling is preferred.
· M.Tech./M.E. with 5 + years of Industrial Experience in Earthquake Engineering, Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering, Engineering Seismology or a closely related discipline.
Experience
· Relevant experience in earthquake engineering, seismic analysis or research and development.
· Experience in consultancy projects, advanced numerical modelling or externally funded research projects is preferred.
· Candidates with strong doctoral or postdoctoral research experience may also be considered.
Desired Skills

· Ability to interpret complex technical datasets.
· Effective technical writing and presentation skills.
· Ability to independently manage research and consultancy assignments.
· Ability to guide multidisciplinary technical teams.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
