Key Responsibilities
- Maintain project documentation for shipbuilding and ship repair projects.
- Prepare and maintain document registers, transmittals, trackers, and status reports.
- Receive documents from engineering, production, procurement, quality, vendors, and subcontractors and ensure proper filing and distribution.
- Coordinate the submission and approval of drawings, specifications, reports, inspection documents, certificates, and technical documents.
- Track document revisions and ensure that only the latest approved revision is available to the concerned departments.
- Maintain records of incoming and outgoing correspondence with clients, vendors, consultants, classification societies, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare document transmittals and follow up on pending approvals/comments.
- Maintain soft-copy and hard-copy records in accordance with company/project procedures.
- Support preparation and compilation of ship handover/delivery documentation, including as-built drawings, manuals, certificates, test reports, inspection records, and other final documentation.
- Coordinate with various departments to collect documents required for quality audits, inspections, trials, and ship delivery.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive project and defence-related documents.
- Assist project managers and department heads in retrieving documents and providing document status updates.
- Ensure compliance with GSL's document-control procedures, quality-management requirements, and applicable contractual requirements.
- Assist in maintaining documentation related to FAT, HAT, SAT, sea trials, harbour trials, inspections, and commissioning, where applicable.

Skills Required
- Positive knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PDF/document-management systems
- Strong document-control and filing skills
- Ability to maintain Excel trackers and document registers
- Good written and verbal communication
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments
- Understanding of revision control and document numbering
- Ability to work with large volumes of technical documentation
- Knowledge of shipbuilding/engineering documentation is an advantage.
Educational Qualification Usually, employers may look for a Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Documentation/Office Administration, or a related field, depending on the exact GSL vacancy. Experience in shipbuilding, engineering, defence, construction, or project documentation can be particularly useful.
Pay: From ₹10,000.00 per month
