Position Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer Windows Imaging & Automation to design, build, customize, and maintain enterprise-grade Windows operating system images and deployment solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience creating and managing custom Windows images, Golden Images, and automated deployment frameworks while also contributing to broader DevOps initiatives.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that Windows environments are standardized, secure, automated, and aligned with organizational requirements. Experience with Linux image engineering and DevOps automation is highly desirable. The responsibilities and skills align with internal Windows imaging practices involving MDT, SCCM, DISM, Sysprep, WIM management, and deployment automation.
Key Responsibilities
Windows Imaging & Deployment
- Create, customize, and maintain Windows Golden Images for enterprise and product-specific environments.
- Build and manage image deployment workflows using MDT, SCCM, DISM, Sysprep, WinPE, and related technologies.
- Integrate operating system updates, security patches, drivers, applications, and custom configurations into Windows images.
- Develop unattended installation and automated provisioning solutions.
- Maintain image release, testing, validation, versioning, and lifecycle management processes.
- Troubleshoot imaging, deployment, driver, boot, and system configuration issues.
- Ensure deployed images comply with security, compliance, and organizational standards.
Automation & DevOps
- Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and Python.
- Create tools and scripts to streamline image creation, validation, testing, deployment, and maintenance activities.
- Support CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to improve build, release, and deployment workflows.
- Support infrastructure automation initiatives and setting provisioning.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
- Manage source code repositories and branching strategies using Git.
- Support artifact management, release automation, and deployment standardization.
- Monitor and improve build reliability, deployment efficiency, and operational stability.
Platform & Infrastructure Support
- Manage virtualized environments used for image creation and testing.
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and automation procedures.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand platform requirements and implement standardized operating system configurations.
- Participate in infrastructure maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Windows OS deployment, imaging, endpoint engineering, DevOps, or similar roles.

- Solid understanding of Windows operating systems, drivers, patching, deployment technologies, and system administration.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Linux image creation and customization (Ubuntu, RHEL, Rocky Linux, CentOS, etc.).
- Experience with Linux shell scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with Docker and container-based workflows.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Experience with Hyper-V, VMware, or cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Knowledge of endpoint management solutions including Intune and Autopilot.
- Familiarity with security scanning, vulnerability remediation, and DevSecOps practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing enterprise-grade operating system deployment solutions.
- Knowledge of secure image hardening and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, lab, R&D;, or engineering environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, or similar platforms.
- Experience with software packaging and enterprise application deployment.
