Open Position :- Design Engineer

Required Education, Knowledge & Experience

- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, and engineering documentation.
- Experience in team coordination and project execution preferred.

/ RESPONSIBILITIES / WORK PROFILE 1. New Product Development & Design Engineering

- Involved in new product development projects including:
- Reverse engineering of products.
- Coordination with Quality and Production teams.
- Creation of 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Preparation of detailed 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Preparation of assembly drawings and exploded views.
- Preparation of technical documentation including:
- Material Data Sheets
- Heat Treatment Specifications
- Design Validation Documents
- Strong knowledge of materials, heat treatment processes, GD&T;, tolerances, and manufacturing processes is essential.

2. RFQ Management & Technical Costing

- Handle customer RFQs from receipt to submission.
- Conduct drawing review, technical feasibility studies, and design evaluations.
- Identify and coordinate with suitable suppliers/vendors.
- Float RFQs and obtain quotations.
- Perform cost analysis and support commercial discussions
- Negotiate technical requirements with suppliers.
- Evaluate manufacturing methods, material selection, and process capabilities.
- Support current business opportunities through technical and cost optimization.

3. SAP Master Data Management





- Create and maintain Item Master data in SAP.
- Create, modify, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Ensure accuracy of engineering and manufacturing data in SAP.

4. ISO Documentation & Compliance

- Create and maintain Design & Development documentation as per ISO requirements.
- Update and manage New Product Development records.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality procedures.
- Support internal and external audits related to design activities.

5. Team Leadership & Team Management

- Lead and guide a team of Design Engineers and Draftsmen for timely execution of projects.
- Allocate work, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Review design outputs, drawings, and technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
- Provide technical support, mentoring, and training to team members.
- Conduct regular design reviews and coordinate cross-functional activities with Quality, Procurement, Production, and Sales teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design processes and engineering practices.
- Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with organizational standards and customer requirements.
- Participate in resource planning and workload management to achieve departmental objectives.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Customers, Suppliers, Quality, Production, and Procurement teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical solutions and support for manufacturing and quality-related issues.
- Participate in design review meetings and project discussions with global stakeholders when required.
