Job Summary The Deputy Manager Quality will be responsible for managing all quality functions across Incoming, In-Process, Final Inspection, Customer Quality, and Laboratory operations. The role requires robust knowledge of composite manufacturing processes, quality systems, testing methods, root cause analysis, and customer complaint handling while ensuring compliance with AS9100D, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Incoming Quality (Receiving Quality)

- Ensure inspection of incoming raw materials and bought-out parts.
- Approve supplier quality documentation and certificates.
- Coordinate with suppliers for quality issues and corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier quality performance.

2. In-Process Quality

- Ensure quality control throughout manufacturing processes.
- Monitor process parameters and inspection checkpoints.
- Reduce rejection and rework through process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to Control Plans and Inspection Plans.

3. Final Quality

- Manage final inspection before product dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Approve final inspection reports and release products for shipment.
- Maintain traceability records.

4. Customer Quality

- Handle customer complaints and warranty issues.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why).
- Implement CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions).
- Participate in customer audits and quality reviews.
- Improve customer satisfaction and reduce customer PPM.

5. Laboratory & Testing





- Manage quality laboratory activities.
- Ensure calibration of measuring instruments.
- Operate and interpret results from:
- UTM (Universal Testing Machine)
- Tensile Testing
- Compression Testing
- Flexural Testing
- Hardness Testing
- Other composite material testing equipment
- Maintain laboratory documentation and test records.

6. Quality Systems

- Ensure compliance with AS9100D, ISO 9001, and customer quality requirements.
- Lead internal quality audits.
- Support external and customer audits.
- Prepare SOPs, Quality Plans, and Work Instructions.

7. Team Management

- Lead and mentor Quality Engineers and Inspectors.
- Conduct training on quality tools and inspection techniques.
- Allocate work and monitor team performance.

8. Continuous Improvement

- Drive Kaizen and Lean Quality initiatives.
- Reduce rejection, scrap, and customer complaints.
- Improve First Pass Yield (FPY).
- Monitor quality KPIs and prepare management reports.

Preferred Candidate Profile 10–12 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in the composites manufacturing industry.

Strong knowledge of receiving, in-process, final, and customer quality functions.

Hands-on experience with UTM and composite material testing.

Proven experience handling customer audits and quality systems such as AS9100D.

Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional quality teams. Role & responsibilities
