Position: Design Engineer

Employment Type: Full-Time The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components, preparing detailed drawings, supporting manufacturing activities, and ensuring that designs meet quality, cost, and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Develop designs for mechanical components, assemblies, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, GD&T;, and material specifications.
- Work closely with the Production, Quality, Purchase, and Manufacturing teams to ensure smooth execution of designs.
- Review existing designs and identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and design optimization.
- Understand manufacturing processes such as fabrication, machining, sheet metal, welding, and assembly.
- Conduct design calculations and select appropriate materials and components where required.
- Prepare and maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials), drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Support prototype development, testing, and design validation.
- Investigate design-related production issues and provide effective engineering solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards and company requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors/suppliers for technical requirements and component development.




- Maintain proper revision control and documentation of engineering drawings and designs.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, preferably in a manufacturing company.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD is essential.
- Positive understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances, fits, and engineering drawing standards.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and manufacturing drawings.
- Knowledge of materials, fasteners, bearings, shafts, and other mechanical components.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in machine design, sheet-metal design, fabrication, or special-purpose machinery.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly).
- Familiarity with engineering standards and quality requirements.
- Experience in product development, prototype development, and design improvements.
- Knowledge of ERP/PDM systems will be an added advantage.
