Roles & Responsibilities

- Drive profitable agri commodity trading through strategic sourcing, market-linked selling, and disciplined risk management. (Buying & Selling - 1500crores)
- Lead agri commodity sourcing & procurement across domestic and international markets aligned to crop cycles and seasonality-driven opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with farmers, aggregators, traders, exporters, and origin suppliers to ensure a reliable supply base.
- Negotiate pricing, quality specifications, shipment terms, and payment structures in line with trading strategy.
- Manage end-to-end purchase orders (POs) and ensure commercial accuracy and control.
- Drive selling, trading & deal execution across domestic and export markets with clear profit accountability.
- Identify and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities including origin-to-market, time spreads, and quality spreads.
- Execute back-to-back and directional trades with strong margin visibility.
- Leverage market intelligence by analyzing global agri markets, weather patterns, geopolitics, demand-supply dynamics, freight, and currency trends.
- Translate insights into actionable buy, sell, or hedging decisions and share market outlooks, price forecasts, and trading strategies.
- Design and implement hedging & risk management strategies using futures, options, swaps, and physical coverage.




- Monitor MTM positions and manage price, currency, and freight exposure within defined risk limits.
- Oversee import execution & international trade operations including contracts, shipment planning, Incoterms, customs compliance, and documentation.
- Optimize logistics, storage & inventory management to ensure cost efficiency, quality preservation, and working capital optimization.
- Ensure strong payment, cash flow & working capital management, robust documentation, audit compliance, and effective stakeholder coordination across functions and external partners.

Critical Skills

- Strong knowledge of agri markets, crop cycles, and trading dynamics with experience in imports and hedging
- Good understanding of Incoterms, trade documentation, and derivatives (NCDEX, CBOT, ICE)
- Robust commercial acumen with P&L; focus
- Ability to interpret global factors (weather, geopolitics) into price movements
- Sound analytical skills with exposure to margins, spreads, and MTM
- Decisive, opportunity-driven, and risk-aware
- Effective in negotiation and stakeholder management
- High ownership, discipline, and integrity

Experience:

- 4-8 years of experience in agri commodity trading, sourcing, or commercial roles
- Proven performer in profitable agri trading with strong international market exposure and experience in leading high-performing operations teams.
