Job Purpose:The Shift Engineer - Mechanical manages mechanical equipment, executes maintenance activities, responds to emergencies, ensures safety, collaborates with stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement for optimal equipment performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

Shift Operations Management

- Supervise mechanical systems and utilities during shifts, ensuring efficient operation and swift resolution of issues to maintain continuous production.

Inventory And Spare Parts Management

- Oversee the inventory of mechanical components and spare parts, ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment to support maintenance operations and minimize equipment downtime, while adhering to budget constraints.

Manages Mechanical Equipment

- Monitor and control pumps, compressors, and conveyors for optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure equipment availability.

Preventive Maintenance And Inspections

- Conduct regular preventive maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure reliability and efficiency,



following established protocols to identify potential issues and minimize unplanned downtime.

Executes Maintenance Activities

- Develop and implement maintenance plans for equipment. Optimize schedules and spare parts to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.

Respond To Emergencies

- Address mechanical breakdowns swiftly to avoid production disruptions. Coordinate with teams to restore normal operations quickly.

Safety And Compliance

- Follow safety protocols and conduct inspections. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Troubleshooting And Diagnostics

- Perform in-depth troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures on mechanical systems to identify root causes of failures, utilizing specialized tools and techniques to restore functionality and improve overall equipment performance.

Collaborate With Stakeholders

- Work with production, engineering, and maintenance teams for equipment integration. Build relationships with suppliers and contractors to solve mechanical issues.

Drive Continuous Improvement

- Enhance equipment performance and reduce costs through recent technologies and best practices like predictive maintenance.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential. Strong practical knowledge of mechanical equipment, troubleshooting, and maintenance is crucial.

Work Experience (Range Of Years)

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial setting. Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensure equipment reliability, and adhere to safety standards. Demonstrated ability to work in a shift environment and handle emergencies effectively.
